SouthStandUpperTier Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Looks like our only chance of staying up is 38 0-0's.

Popular Post jamfox Posted 18 August 2024 Popular Post Posted 18 August 2024 (edited) Was just reading the spurs forum , well liked works hard never let them down. General consensus was 20 mil was about right with him being 23 , and that he wasn't quite good enough to start for a top 6 epl side. Realistically that's as good as we're going to get !! I know we desperate for attacking options but that doesn't make this bad business we just need some of the attacking players were going for to come off. A new striker of the few mentioned will be such a lift. We all feeling that frustration right now. I think the money is high reflects the age and re sale opportunity as well Edited 18 August 2024 by jamfox 7

Mickyblueeyes Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Very worrying how flippant Top and the leadership are with the clubs money. Skipp is a good profile but every man and his dog will be raising eyebrows at the fee. 1
Cropwellfox Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Assuming we get this over the line there’s every chance this lad will be our captain in 12 months time. 1

He will get games for us, I'm just saying he wasn't signed as a starter.
Stopharage Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 The Spurs’ fans’ feedback on The Athletic article is really positive about him. Gives 100% every game, seem to think he’ll work well with Winks, adaptable to various systems and has a fantastic attitude. 4
JonnyBoy Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Really good solid signing but 25 million reported is eye watering.. considering we could have got Szmodics for 10mil albeit a different position. can only assume club have ££ for an AM and ST?
Edingleyfox Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Skipp has been mentioned as a target all summer and he has been on a few clubs radar. As always shopping in the top 6 incurs a supplement but I truly believe he is quality and Cooper and Winks will know him well.. I think it was Mourinho that tipped him as a future Spurs captain so he obviously has a bit of steel about him. Overall whether this is a good move for the club all depends on what is planned for other targets. I'm not disagreeing with anyone who think the squads is massively short of goal scorers
Jaspa Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Saw him in the u23's England v France a while ago at the KP, comfortably our worst player that evening. Apprehensive about this one.
Phenom Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 I don’t mind Skipp but considering our budget limitations and our areas of serious need this seems like a luxury pick up. We definitely paid a luxury price. Rudkin totally outmaneuvered by Levy.
marcymarc666 Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Levy always gets his own way, screwed us over for madders too.
OadbyBlue Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Looking at his highlights, he looks like more of a ball winner than winks. Though a lot of this footage was from his loan to Norwich.
CrispinLA in Texas Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 (edited) 20m + 5m add ons.....Jee why so much it's not as other clubs want him aswell. Other DOF's know how to sell their unwanted players for decent amounts before they run down their contract Edited 18 August 2024 by CrispinLA in Texas

I know fans won't want to hear it because it won't be great to watch but a midfield 3 of Winks, Ndidi and Skipp should be enough to let the likes of Mavididi and Fatawu run wild. The worry for me is that we need a striker that can play with his back to goal.
Richmondfox Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Rinsed by Levy for Maddison when desperate on the way down. Now back up and desperate he’s rinsed us again.

Makes no sense to me. my only conclusion is that we are not short of money, just having a hard job of convincing people to sign.
Supergray22 Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Given what we got for Maddison we have been well and truly Ruddered.

I think Skipp will be a decent addition, but he's never worth more than £15M. I fully expected it to be a loan with an option and then for us to spend our budget on more pressing areas of the team. My guess is we are weighing up which positions are best to sign someone on a perm and which will be loans, maybe we’ve struggled to get permanent deals done for strikers and CAMs 1
