Popular Post frany104 Posted 11 August 2024 Popular Post Posted 11 August 2024 Not only will zaha be our best player. What he will also do by sheer presence alone, he probably gets doubled up on which means fatawu on the other wing has more space to run at his man. it’s a huge yes for me. 16

He's scored or assisted in very nearly all his starts. But he did drop out of favour and out of the starting 11, which seems odd as he was putting the numbers up when he was starting. If you look at his record it's actually very good. I suspect that he's had a falling out with the manager or something along those lines or had a strop about being benched, as he's done very little off the bench, scoring once from 17 sub apps. Akgun got 8 goals 9 assists in the Turkish league 2 seasons before he joined us and he wasn't even starter quality in the championship. If we're looking at the PL he had definitely fallen from his best even with Crystal Palace.

Because a small, young Turkish lad in his first season abroad in a league known to be extremely physical is remotely comparable to a player who’s spent almost his whole career being on of the best PL wingers. 2
urban.spaceman Posted 11 August 2024 Posted 11 August 2024 Can people just be a bit more negative about him please? All this positivity about signing him just makes a long injury inevitable.
Vlad the Fox Posted 11 August 2024 Posted 11 August 2024 Didn’t he have a massive fall out with the manager after gala got hammered in the super cup??? He accused Saha of not understanding his instructions and blamed the drubbing on him, Saha then removed all reference of gala from all his social media accounts.

He does have a reputation of being a bit of a bellend. But with Zaha, he's also a player that can create something out of nothing. 0-0, 10 minutes to go, team all out of ideas (if we had any in the first place under Cooper). Bring Zaha on and whilst he might do nothing, he's exactly the type of player that beats two men and sticks it in top bins. And players like that even if they are not liked, are generally respected by their teammates. 1

I agree, he’s like Vardy that you can’t leave him alone, might not have done much but as you say can produce something out of the blue. He’ll occupy defenders just by being on the pitch. 3
CosbehFox Posted 11 August 2024 Posted 11 August 2024 When you place the loan fee into the wider context if it was a long term deal, it does make you fear that it’s bad value 1

Royston. Posted 11 August 2024 Posted 11 August 2024 This transfer window has been so crap Zaha would seem like a monumental signing.

gurru991 Posted 12 August 2024 Posted 12 August 2024 It's a huge NO for me. Signing 31 year old players who are past their prime is not path forward for a club looking to build. Does Mavididi sit while this guy starts ?? 1

You are right we should spend £25m on every single player so we get all the best up and coming talents and then just get hammered with points deductions. Our signings are a symptom of where we are, not because we really really want to sign loads of old players. 5
