These bowls, as we know, lack identity. Stands should be distinguishable, at least. All about the corporate, though.

So only build a new stadium if you're guarenteed to have a great team forever?

Ah, so that's why the KP extension isn't happening

Looks incredible, as does Everton, and as are Arsenal and Tottenham. Not sure why anyone would suggest otherwise. Shows a level of ambition commensurate with the status of the club - in line with Real Madrid, Bayern etc.

(To quote a famous son of Manchester, this "says nothing to me about my life", mind!)

Be interesting see which other club will build a mega stadium, Chelsea want to of course but seems impossible for some reason plus redevelopment of stamford bridge is limited. They biggest loss was missing out on the london stadium, though it's not a great stadium of football it was probably their only chance of moving into 60,000 stadium. You do wonder if at some point we could see two clubs in London sharing a mega new stadium possibly the only option for some.

The best I’ve seen was that the reason for the nets around the ground was to catch Dalots crosses

They were trying to buy Battersea Power station at one point weren't they?

Not as simple as moving for Chelsea. I'm pretty sure there is some sort of naming rights issue with Chelsea.

Shareholders rejected it. As I said in my post above there is some sort of freehold thing at Chelsea where shareholders own the ground, not the club. The club tried to buy Stamford Bridge before but shareholders rejected it.

Not that I know 100% how it works but I'm sure this is why they have to stay in that area. It's not as easy as just moving to a new around like Leicesterpool quoted London Stadium.

Not premier league but Birmingham are trying build a 60,000 stadium... second city I get but have Birmingham City got 60,000 fans plus planning this before they even got to the top flight. Ambition is one thing but realism is another.

Chelsea and other London clubs issue is space.

Where do you move to where there is available land within proximity to the club? Chelsea couldn’t have popped up at Stratford at the Olympic stadium. West to East London wouldn’t happen.

It’s not like a Leicester where if you moved stadium you have a whole city area to select from. A city that is not as built up.

Shame ours will never happen. We will fall so far behind even the likes of Fulham and Brighton.

Well Leicester for example have got whole county to choose from so would plenty of space an issue and as you say London is complicated as there simply no space unless you demolish and rebuild on your own land... Stamford bridge unable to do that. Im sure a decade ago there was some sort talk of Chelsea and Fulham groundsharing stadium but came to nothing. Similar to Liverpool and Everton.

Part of the agreement is as far as I remember. A team called Chelsea have to play at Stamford bridge based on that agreement. So I’m not sure if they could rename or else they’d just have to buy out the people who own the pitch

They group are called Chelsea Pitch Owners and we’re created when Ken Bates sold to Roman. I think he sold pitch to them for £1 and created security for club to play at Stamford Bridge.

Of the 198 games played by six promoted teams in the Premier Leaguesince August 2023, only 23 have been won. Taking this season in isolation, the number is nine from 84.

Birmingham is kind of like the 3rd biggest club in the city and 3rd in fanbase behind villa and the baggies.

West Brom aren’t bigger than Birmingham City in *Birmingham*

West Brom have won the first division and the fa cup at least four times and the league cup. Plus previously had longer spells in the top flight. Whilst Birmingham have only won the league cup twice in their entire history. West Brom edge it.

In West Bromwich they’re bigger, sure.
