I was hoping we’d be going for someone who ranks a bit higher in progressive carries and successful take ons. He does look to have a lot of good attributes though.

 

Also, not too many goals over quite a few appearances in a bit of a sub-standard league?

 

He is only 20 though, and if everyone else is excited, I’m excited! :D

Only get it in henna though as his next signing probably be Scott Carson on a 5 year deal

All of those points valid, still probably our best signing this window.

 

From what I can gather, he is viewed as a hot prospect with a high ceiling - something we can’t say about anyone else we have signed apart from the kid we have borrowed for a year and golding who is probably a way off first team ready.

Looks a bit lightweight and his finishing is questionable.

 

I just wonder if this is a player we actually really need right now.

 

If we get him and a striker then fair enough but if this is our last through the door the priorities are messed up.

Don't want to piss on anyone's chips, but a leak of a club agreeing terms with the player before agreeing a fee with the other club is normally a tactic to generate more interest from other clubs. 

 

Looking at the other clubs that have been interested, I suspect this news is designed to kick them into gear. Anyone of them will be more attractive than us.

From his comps, it looks like he plays quite deep. Is this maybe more a KDH replacement as opposed to an out and out #10?

Not necessarily. 

 

Just had a similar conversation with Mark. The fact it's come from a very well known Belgian tipster feels a lot to me like the agent trying to put pressure on his club because he's agreed terms with us but Genk's asking price is deemed too high.

In recent games it looks like he's played as both a CM in a 343 and as an AM in a 3421.
