Many of their fans were making comparisons in terms of his profile to Modric, which I can kind of see. Best position is definitely as an '8' as he's got such a good engine and willingness to get stuck in, feels a bit of a waste to play him as a 10.

If he's here next year, would like to see him in that role especially considering we could have actually have loads of good options in the other roles he plays.

I think you are right, that's why we got him, Bilal playing under Enzo in that system would have been perfect.

He could have done the job of Soumare or Ndidi last season with Bou further up

Have no idea why we never saw this. Bou was clearly a much more natural 10.

Because we employed Cooper, if we had gone for Coberan the system would have pretty much remained the same and Bilal and Bou would have been key additions to the first 11.

He's young and one of a handful of players that didn't completely stain their reputation last season.

If he wants to stay great, if a good offer comes in fair enough, let him go. Like fook are we in a position to demand £40 million for him though, I'd be happy if we got half that as a Championship club. Spurs paid that for Madders and that was a knock-down price - he is not on that level. lol

The only (I’m clutching) difference between BEK and Mads is their sell on value.

Spurs wouldn’t ever make a profit on Mads yet a buyer for BEK genuinely could.

Bethe can't wait to play under Ruud this season.

I’d say the biggest difference is goal output. Maddison gets 10 goals a season, BEK currently gets you 2-3. Not to say he can’t improve it but I imagine it’s his final G+A contribution that’s making teams think twice given our valuation.

Completely agree about that but with BEK being 5 years younger than what Maddison was when we sold him, shouldn’t be underestimated.

I’d love Bilal to stay and think a very good season from an output perspective and we’d genuinely see us getting a similar fee to Maddison at least.

That's not a fair comparison.  Maddison played in a team that crossed the halfway line now and then.

It is a fair comparison. #10's are focal to getting your team up the pitch, Maddison could do this frequently. Bilal may have this quality in a number of seasons. But at this moment in time, people have placed him on such a high pedestal, but truth to told, he only has 5 goal involvements in 32 games.

Going into next season with a midfield 3 of Bilal, Mavididi and Fatawu would make us very competitive.

I think we’d lose at least two before the transfer window shuts

Two of them are wingers.....errrr concerning.

Genuinely believe our boardroom is like the complaints department of Heineken Beer.  Full of cobwebs and spiders.  Club has completely closed down until 1st July.  That in itself, is quite impressive.  (Not).

What?  Have you met Leicester City FC 2025?

Maddison played alongside Tielemans, Barnes and Prime Vardy, Wilf and Ricardo.

BEK played alongside a knackered Wilf and Vardy with Skipp, Ayew, BDCR and Soumare.  What can he do among that lot?

Isn’t a winger a midfielder anymore ? Get your point though, yes we can’t go into the season with just them 3 but having them 3 in attacking positions makes us very very strong for this level.

To be fair, at the time he was the most in-demand English midfielder in the league, he could have easily gone on to be even more coveted by big-six sides and turned Spurs a profit on £40m. It's a combo of Totteringham being a meme club and Angeball wrecking his already injury-prone body that have pushed him back under the radar.

There might still be clubs daft enough to try it though, despite everything. Part of me could see Man Utd. randomly sticking in a £50 million bid for him, given their transfer policy appears to involve surrounding themselves with fans and throwing poo at them, then blaming the tea lady for the stains on the walls and sacking her.

Are arsenal in for Bilal?

Arsenal and Wolves are this weeks tentative shitly-sourced links. Arsenal reported to have agreed terms with his agent. £30 million being the fee banded around.

Fatawu is coming back from an injury.

Mavididi has hardly played.

Who do you  think is likely to sign them?

I think Stephy a risk as we closer to the deadline rather than Fatawu.
