Doesn't today's goal make him the youngest goalscorer in English professional football history?

You'd imagine so (with being born July 2009).

James Vaughan, the next-youngest, was 16 years and 270 days old.

Really embarrassing for the rest of the team (Fatawu aside) that a 16 year old has scored his first senior goal, picked the ball up to go again, looking to win the game and they all just turn their backs and walk off looking completely unbothered about both the personal achievement of the kid and winning the game

Can’t wait for them all to f*** off. This is why the KP clappers can f*** off as well. They think it’s all just about people not being happy when not winning every week. This is a prime example of why many of us have had it with this leadership of the club. The culture is absolutely rotten and those who can’t see it are clueless.

Great post

Daka looked well pi55ed off when Monga scored

Na Bellingham was the youngest I could find and Monga has done him

Vaughan is PL only – still the record holder for the top tier

Yes, just realised about Vaughan in the PL.

You're right, re Monga - https://www.espn.co.uk/football/story/_/id/45994103/jeremy-monga-breaks-jude-bellingham-championship-record - Monga, aged 16 years and 37 days old, beat the record that had been held by Jude Bellingham who set the previous mark when scoring for Birmingham City in 2019 aged 16 years and 63 days.

We desperately need to get a striker in for Monga and Fatawu to play off and link up with.  There's so much onus on them having to beat their man every time and while it's definitely exciting to watch when it comes off, we'd reap massive rewards if we just gave them help in giving them more ways to be effective than winning their 1 on 1's.

Really pleased for the lad to get his first senior goal  and hopefully many more he terrorised the PNE defence who could only foul him to stop him and he took his goal well needs to start next game the lad has more talent at 16  than most of the starting 11, this lad is going to be amazing and you never know may become the most expensive player we have ever sold when the big boys in the Prem or abroad see how good he becomes in the next few years !

There are so many of them, but this lad coming through when he is will add another little harmful consequence of Top’s incompetent management of this club.

We should be a Premier League club with him breaking through which would mean he’d have a chance of playing longer for us before getting poached and that we’d get a much bigger fee for him when he’s sold.

As things stand, the club will probably lose another £20m on the fee for him because he’ll be sold by us as a Championship club rather than a Premier League one.

Enjoy him briefly while we can and then watch on as he flourishes in the Premier League for someone else.

Such a shame that he is breaking through now. We as fans won’t be able to properly enjoy his time here, because he is largely going to be carrying the club. But in the same breath Rodgers wouldn’t have allowed him to play like this, at least Marti will encourage him to be individual and express himself.

Try to savour it people, enjoy watching him, he is the only aspect of this club that we can look forward to at the weekend.

Still would love to see him played as a no.10

Worth a try as it would allow us to deploy BEK (in the slim chance he's not been sold) as an 8, where I think he'd be more effective.

He’ll be gone before we could get a maguire sized fee for him

reckon end next season at best

never going to drive the return on such a talent that we should be (both on and off the pitch)

atm, most likely we’d squeeze £35m out of a Man City or Chelsea at 17 y o. He’s not a Lamal because we can’t give him the exposure or team he’d need to show that level of talent. and once the money starts rolling in for him next season no one knows what happens to his mentality.

Luckily for him he’s too young to be in with them.

True but he’s in and around them

he’s sitting amongst them pre match and at half time and immediately post match.

he’s training with them

he’s travelling with them

Hes listening to the fans booing his own team regularly,  hes probably hearing so much negativity about the club. These youngsters wont want to stay at a rotten club

Rudkins already calculating the profit from selling him when he gets bombarded by calls from the big boys, only a matter of when, mid or end of season, unless he gets injured.

Enjoy his performances whilst you can.

We can’t sell him until he’s 17 ??

And whilst he looks like an amazing talent, no one knows how he will respond mentally to the money next season.  Can’t see us getting anything like the sums some of you are imagining until he’s 18.  And even then that will depend on what players were able to put out with him. If we surround him with average then he won’t be able to show his potential properly and his fee will be suppressed as a result.
