Yeah it's a shame that some just can't make the step when they look so promising.

Also coming back from an acl injury though sometime it takes a bit longer for some to fully recover than others he could still very well live up to his potential wouldn't write him off yet

Wrong, Lamal started and affected the Euros final at 16/17. If he's as generational as we're lead to believe he won't need another 8 years.

What am I wrong about?

And how can we label someone as generational when we haven't seen them play senior football?

Imo vardy is a “solid” player and he only came through into the premier league aged 27. And Kane is also a “solid” loan player yet he had an unsuccessful loan spell here aged 19 or something.

I know they’re a bad case studies as theyre rare. But so is Yamal. I can only think of three or four players who have performed to a consistently high standard aged 16/17. Yamal, Rooney and possibly a handful of others. The chances that we have one of those is very rare.

All I’m saying is that expectations need to be managed a bit. At least until when we see him play men’s football. And if it doesn’t go to plan for him tonight then he can still be a top player.

The lad is still just a kid. Occasionally someone will make a breakthrough at a very young age but it is rare. Even our own Emile Heskey was 17 when he made his debut but he was a big strong unit even that age.

As much as I would like to see him get minutes, I wouldn't expect too much from him. the first  time he tries any tricks he will most likely get battered.

physicality is where most of these so called wonderkids are let down.

Give him minimum 30 mins tonight and then do the same for the remainder of the season.

When we inevitably drop, promise him game time and that the following summer he can leave for a set fee and then hopefully he'll stay

I reckon though he'll walk away to man city, chelsea or liverpool and we'll get about 2million in compo

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned but he will be the second youngest player to make a first team appearance

Ashley Chambers holds the record as the youngest player to have played for Leicester City. He made his first-team debut on 20 September 2005 in a League Cup match against Blackpool at the age of 15 years and 203 days

Monga is 15 years and 212 days old today
