Popular Post Ric Flair Posted 7 October 2024 Popular Post Posted 7 October 2024 The irony is, the reason we destroyed them home and away last season was not because we retained possession extremely well, it was because we exposed them trying to do that and hammered them on the counter attack. This should be right up Cooper's street but I've a feeling that whilst Enzo had Brussell's number and always would, we'll somehow lose easily against this struggling Brussell team. 6
steveherbe Posted 7 October 2024 Posted 7 October 2024 Luckily for me, I'll be in Portugal waiting for a flight home, so don't have to attend my 'home' game. Pity you lads travelling down from Leicester for this one - even more pity for the one's travelling up from Bournemouth, you must be MAD!!

Yep. The same Dibling that has run the show so effectively for Southampton this season that they've amassed one point from seven games and a -11 goal difference. 1 6

goose2010 Posted 7 October 2024 Posted 7 October 2024 IF we can win this it would be pretty big going into the Forest game. Forest have been dealt a big of a shitty hand by Sky in our favour. They play Monday night and then us on the Friday so might give us a slight advantage....

I thought they looked pretty quick on the counter, got forward quickly, hit the woodwork twice. Having said that they haven't scored more than once in a league game so let's not cack our pants, need to get at them.
Simonb Posted 7 October 2024 Posted 7 October 2024 Repeat of last season and a big confidence boost. Two shite teams going toe to toe but we have the better front line 1-4 with Stephy running the show
TrentFox Posted 7 October 2024 Posted 7 October 2024 I have a hunch they’ll have a new manager by this fixture 🤔
Mon.is.a.god Posted 7 October 2024 Posted 7 October 2024 It’s ironic, on the Southampton forum they’re desperate for a long ball specialist such as Cooper, fat Sam to come in because of their suicidal tactics thus far and our fans are desperate for a passing obsessive such as Martin. It was very telling that Southampton fans were saying that they were undone by Arsenal when Martin reverted back to their normal style of play after staring off with a low block. Just shows the fickleness of fans these days.
FrankieADZ Posted 7 October 2024 Posted 7 October 2024 probably lose, since we hammered then twice last season, always the way

Trav Le Bleu Posted 7 October 2024 Posted 7 October 2024 Win this and Man Utd don't beat Brentford at home, then we go above Man Utd. Which probably says more about Man Utd than us.

I mean we should be beating these to be honest. Southampton look worse than they did last season. We had the much better team last season and that is still the case Edited 7 October 2024 by foxes_rule1978 1
Dan Posted 7 October 2024 Posted 7 October 2024 (edited) Want 7 points from the next 3. Will only accept drawing this if we beat Forest and Ipswich. But this is the easiest fixture by a way - they're absolutely dire. It's a good job that they lost at Arsenal without it being humiliating for them. That's the outcome that hurts them most - keeps Martin in the job but ultimately yields nothing. Was dreading them sacking him before this game. Edited 7 October 2024 by Dan LCFC
