it wont be long until there is a bloke standing with a chip and pin by the bus when the players get to the ground!

I get they want to limit it but come on just make it free and for anyone!

and oh yeah dont you dare ask the players to sign a shirt or anything else!!

Do we think something has changed or has it always been like this but the success just kind of covered it up?

I mean, how does the only Premier League club to vote against charging £15 a game to watch matches during COVID then charge £10 to watch a friendly? It doesn't make sense for that to be the same people making those decisions.

We're about 5th (behind mainly London clubs) for cost of matchday food. But hey Top will give you a free donut one in every 50 games so be grateful.

I just feel like that they've never been what they're cracked up to be sadly. It's just that the veil has been well and truly lifted in the last few years.

feels like if you cant beat them join them mentality, but it definitely seems to have got worse over the past 2 years.

You’re a kid from a disadvantaged background. Maybe not so far away from the stadium - somewhere like New Parks or Braunstone. Of course you can’t afford a season ticket or membership but a walk, bus or bike ride down the ground during half term is achievable…

LCFC do not give two craps about you.

So unnecessarily sad to see. Shame on you, LCFC.

Regardless of background, they shouldn't be charging kids to meet the players.

I've still got John Elsom's signature in my autograph book from that Walkers Stadium open day. Must be worth least £200-300 now

My only claim to fame is that I once urinated next to John Elsom whilst in corporate hospitality at Old Trafford.

I'm gonna guess - and I'm being generous here - that there's a layer of middle management at the club that are careerist. And use these absurd ticketing policies and fan signings as a way of saying, he look at this  idea I introduced to professionalise our department.

Of course, this approach entirely misses the point that a club is in effect a cooperative. A members club. A charity. A local authority. I know if course  legally it's a business but the similarities with 'business' end there. And clearly there are people who aren't getting that

If you want signatures then go before a game.
You’ll be able to get a proper selfie with them as well. The biggest annoyance for me is they only facilitate the signing of the card they give you.

The club could also put it on for nothing, especially when you consider it’s coming up to Christmas and a fair percentage of people will end up buying something from the shop whilst they’re there anyway.

I really hate this, once again pushing away the next generation of fans.

£10 is such tiny figure for a football club, there's no gain at all for them. Just make it bloody free for someone to meet them.

Typifies the rancid, odious state of this club under King Power.

…And yet a pile of ***** will queue up to shovel the content of their wallets over and hold lobotomised grins for a camera.

So pathetic.

Just feel like at the point they were giving out free pints and donuts and we were doing so well on the pitch the fan/owner relationship was about as good as it gets in football. As soon as they started to make such bad decisions and got rightly criticised they seem to have given up on the fan relations side of things. Or at least any attempt to appear like they think about us in decisions.

Almost like one giant **** you to us all with every decision they make in the last few years.

I once had a shit in the cubicle next to Tom Smeaton...

My dad used to take me to Belvoir Drive for open training sessions and we had access to the players to talk and to get whatever it was we wanted signed.

One of the things that endeared me to the club, for sure.

If I had to pay a tenner for a club sponsored card and that was the only thing that the precious Demi-gods deign to scribe on I wager that my Dad wouldn’t have bothered with it all.

That’s the thing. I don’t think it was.

99% of our fan base couldn’t pronounce Vichai’s surname, couldn’t pick his voice out of a crowd, couldn’t tell you anything about him other than he owned King Power. They did a good bit of PR by giving charitable donations and giving the odd freebie (at a time when other clubs were also giving freebies such a free coaches to away games), but was it not just more the case that they benefitted from the success on the pitch and appreciation by association?

Now, of course, they took some financial decisions that massively helped the club, and it gave us the platform to achieve what we did, but there’s been many a sign of ineptitude along the way and I think everyone just got a bit carried away with the nice story of a fan-owner relationship that wasn’t really there.

A tragic event which stirred the emotions only served to exaggerate that. In the same way as when Princess Diana died.

I completely agree with this, as I said in my post before I think it was all a bit of an illusion but on the surface our relationship with them was as good as it gets. If you asked anyone outside of Leicester they'd have loved to have the owners we had. But it's how much you detach success from those below from the money that's funded it. In reality they were dangerously chucking money at it before Pearson come back.

There's still a very good chance Top leaves us in a worse place than he joined us if we don't stay up this season. He's very lucky that on numerous occasions we have got out of situations that he's caused. It's certainly not been great decision after great decision.

I don't think it was ever as great as made out but it has gotten worse. It's just more and more focus on it because things have blatantly gone to pot on the pitch as well.

You're right it wasn't. But can you think of any other owners who'd be allowed to parade the trophy around the pitch in the way ours were without anything being said? I can't think of any.

Once again it comes back to the point of needing 'football people' within the club. The continued level of disregard shown in these decisions is obviously disheartening, but it's also very damaging for the future of our fanbase, which has been a concern raised by many.

Im clearly an outlier on this subject but I actually prefer the signing sessions for the kids how they are now organised. It does prioritise the kids that attend matches regularly but surely that’s a good thing? It makes the events more manageable from a queue size and actually stops the stress (at least for me) of potentially having to buy expensive merch to get signed like balls, shirts etc as they only sign the cards. It has also stopped adults that were previously just trying to profit by getting loads of merch signed to then flog for profit on eBay. I watched that happen at a Wes Morgan signing a few years ago.

Out of interest what time do you need to be outside the entrance to see the players arrive?

I'm usually in the pub for a pre,-match pint but my 7 year old would probably enjoy seeing the players and getting a few signatures, so I might take him early one match?
