Folks, a manager can select the right personnel but still not make an impact as a coach during the game.

The defending was abysmal by the players, and that is on them, primarily. The lack of a clear press for most of the game was baffling, however, and I am struggling to comprehend what the plan was after half time for us to havs a) played like that and b) responded to Forest's changes in approach. Those aspects are on the coach. They aren't the reason we lost the game, but they certainly don't help.

Even after that, I still think that is our strongest 11, barring maybe JJ/Kristiansen. But probably not.

The loss is on the players primarily, but they doesn't give you an "I told you so" I'm afraid. Put it back in ice, deary me.

Our strongest 11 that gave our worse performance?

I think the issue is people not being consistent, who is to blame for the loss, who knows, ultimately the manager takes responsibility, but that goes for the wins as well.  But right now we have people flip flopping on things more often than a heated frying pan spits.

We were told a certain way of playing and line up is the key to success.  Now suddenly some kind of amnesia has occurred.

Happy with the starting line up and I said I would give him the benefit of doubt if he plays Abdul and Ricky, which I was prepared to do. But.......

As soon as I saw he was bringing on Soumaré, he can frankly piss right off. Soumaré may well be my most hated player ever to play for us. Lazy shite. Clearly he doesn't want to be here so why play him! Cooper just doesn't have a clue does he?

That's a stretch mate. I don't even think he's the most hated player in the squad!

Fair play to forest they were the better team.that was a disgusting performance from our lads and the manager. Get the Welsh cvnt out our club as soon as possible if we want to try and stay up. Thanks for ruining my night in a pub full of florist fans who think they just won the premier league or something with that reaction.  God they think theybare man city the way they behave. Clowns

Forest has over 2 days less prep time than we did for tonight. No excuses. I can’t explain that performance. I think it was our worst, bar Walsall.

Well riccy looked so far off it, doubt anyone will be shouting to much for him again.

To a man appalling tonight, but we may as well face it, we're well behind most of the teams in this league. We'll have our fight with the bottom 5 or 6, the rest anything will be a bonus.

Sooner we realise where we are at, the better.

When "coward Cooper" was playing his uber negative tactics and not picking certain players he was picking up points. You all got the team you were demanding and it was a disaster. Maybe just assume you don't know best?

So this was all Steve Cooper proving a point? Get out of his hole.

Picked our best side and I was happy enough with the first half.

Although Justin was really poor and their winger had a field day.

They made the midfield tweak at half time, Cooper didn’t react. Our mistakes cost us, but we at least tried to chase the game.

It seems we don’t have a plan with the ball. I’m not sure what happens in training but it’s not obvious on the pitch.

Vardy shouldn’t be playing more than an hour and should know that so he can put more into that 2/3rds of a game.

Some learning shown by Cooper, but then some typical mistakes … no tactical reaction and too few subs made too late.

I actually thought there was a hint of a player in Soumare today

Everyone clammering for Ricardo and Fattawu to start need to be careful what they wish for. Mavididi and Fattawu were better when they came on as subs

Never start them again then.

I think we will stay up with Cooper still and really don’t see the point in changing till the end of the season. I liked him after watching the q&a with him but it was difficult watching the forest fans sing his name. But I just don’t understand where this official fans line up is? Did Cooper get supporter’s to send in suggestions via fax or email?
Cooper picked the team, the formation and the tactics, it’s on him. Then another portion of the blame for the defeat is with the players. Fundamentally, I’m not sure why people are taking such glee in saying ‘are you happy now’, in relation to a different lineup! We’ve just lost against Forest at home.

Probably his first game where I feel he got things wrong.

Yes. And yet it was the line-up that people on here lauded the most. What does that tell you? The specific changes that the Foxestalk mob bayed for were instrumental in costing us the game. Mind you, what does that say about the manager?

Felt like we were at least trying to give it a go. Sadly, we are just not that good.

I'm at least satisfied that trailing a goal we weren't just trapping the ball on the half way line and passing it back to the keeper. There was a bit of fight but just not enough quality.

I live in hope we just have more quality than at least 3 more clubs come the end of the season we can build upon.

LCFC losing pisses me off.

Losing to forest doubly pisses me off.

Losing to forest on a Friday has totally ruined my weekend which has also ruined my wife and kids weekend as I'm going to be an even bigger miserable c*nt than I normally am.

Cheers LCFC, sons crying

We were brilliant in the first half and deserved to be winning. It was like watching two different sides in the second half - was embarrassing how bad we were.

Cooper doesn't know how to defend in the transitional phase (counter attack) when playing that system which out did us today. Forest played a low block in the second half and targeted us with a fast counter which exploited this.

Cooper is just a really basic level manager. May find a way to keep us up but that would really be his ceiling.

Went into half time on a bit of a lull, but was a decent half and 1-1 was a fair result, even though we gifted them the goal. Had hoped we would come out all guns blazing like we did against Southampton but it was the opposite. So many absolute brain farts and missplaced passes and that is down to the players. Whether its because they are asked to play a way they are not comfortable with or that they just arnt that good, no one knows.

Cooper picked what most would say was our best 11? And Forest are not to be sniffed at since they move upto 5th from the win but i feel we dropped a point tonight and i honestly believe we could have at least got a draw.

Really disappointed and even though i never wanted Cooper at the start of the season, the loss tonight is not entirely on him. Ofc he has to take the brunt of responsibility but so do the bloody players.

Decent team selection but god awful subs, Soumare ... agggh .. Ayew when we need a goal hmm ..

We won the league in 15/16 as we ran through walls and tactically outsmarted people with better game plans and passages of play.

We beat teams who technically had better XIs.

You can have the best eleven players in the world, however try if they aren’t use to playing with each other, they’ll make different runs, press differently, lack communication etc.

Technically that was our best XI on paper, however sometimes it doesn’t work like that. Ndidi can’t play as an 8 at this level. He’s simply not at that level.

I don’t understand where Skipp fits in if I’m honest. Vardy needed support. The wingers were isolated. The defence was rinsed.

We are playing like eleven people have been put on a pitch and asked to take on a well oiled machine.

If you watched Bournemouth or Everton or even right the way back to Spurs, you know that scoreline was coming.

I'm not going mad on the Cooper out stuff, nothing he can do about our comical defending  but we'll learn a lot about this side against Ipswich. Lose that and Cooper will lose a lot of the fence-sitters
