Take Everton fans for example. Not afraid to make their feelings be known. Despite the amount of people on here that are anti Rudkin, want Cooper gone and completely disillusioned with the running of the club in general we never let our feelings be known at games. We clap players off after complete inept performances and even when anyone dares to dish out any criticism they tend to get dogs abuse from others in the crowd. Why do we stand for it when most other fans won't?

Maybe they are not of the same opinion as you and some others here.

Maybe they are happy with their matchday experience.

If you hear the boos at the end of 80% of their home games then i dont think they are to happy.

I suppose the big difference between Everton and us in this respect is context. They've only ever spent 4 seasons outside the top flight and are currently in a relegation battle every year and haven't won anything since 1995, whereas we are a 1st-2nd tier yoyo club who've seen our team lift seven trophies - of varying importance - since they last won one. The majority of our matchgoing fans remember us being relegated to the third tier, we won the top flight 8 years ago and won the FA Cup a few years ago, under this ownership, for the first time in our history. Of course we're less angry.

You're far too sensible.

Loads of people think our owners are the greatest owners in the World. Nothing will ever change their opinion of them.

Everton will always be in Liverpool’s shadow. Scousers are angry at everything from the Royals to the Sun Newspaper.

As for us, a lot of the angry mob can’t afford to go so come to places like FoxesTalk to vent. There’s also a whole new generation of the happy family of four, fans since 2016, that would invite the likes of Rudkin and Whelan to Tarquins or Jemimas 9th birthday party.

There seems to be the view that most of the so called happy clappers are older along with younger fans. But let's not tar a whole demographic with the same brush. There's plenty of older fans who are at the least dissatisfied with what the are seeing on and off the pitch but have run out of energy etc to show it

Most of those older fans have been young fans and stood on the terraces in the 50s/60s/70s singing their hearts out and have seen it all the heart-breaking and record breaking lows to the never dreamt we would ever win the league or the FA Cup for that matter.

They're not the problem though like in life people are living longer so there is an increase in older fans still going, should they be denied that? This coupled with a large designated family area means there is less space for the youthful, noisy, raucous and maybe impatient fans. So inevitably there is going to be an imbalance.

On top of this football in general and especially the PL and more so LCFC are very happy with this as it fits in with their vision of how they want the PL to become more acceptable to the rich, tourists and business clientele.

I think if you dig deep you'll find we're not so different to most PL clubs but not helped by a limited size stadium and owners who have brought success beyond the dreams of most fans.

I had to stop going to the games in 2023, for various reasons. But when I went, I sat in the family stand with my two boys. Trust me, there are impatient and "raucous" fans there - parents teaching their kids to yell profanity and make obscene gestures, etc. Call me a puritan, but I didn't like it and it was somewhat embarrassing to watch parents literally teaching their children to be jerks. I applauded the team when they did well, and was quiet when they didn't deserve to be cheered. I never booed the team. But I went to the games because I - gasp! - wanted to watch football. I think it was less than five times I walked out and saw an actual fistfight happening - I was with my children, and we went to watch a game, not violence. But there were lots of people who seemed to think those fights were the best part of the day - like race car fans wanting to see a crash. Seriously, I just don't get it.

I admit the teams probably want some richer fans, which is why new stadiums are designed with special money-sucking areas for the rich. I am less sure they want tourists (except for maybe a few of the "Big" clubs). What I think they want is for people to be able to come to the games and feel safe, and yes, be able to bring their families.

I was talking generally of course there are exceptions, as for those examples in the family stand they were most likely in my group of impatient, raucous fans a year or two before.

I still stick with my view that the club want rich and business people that's why they want many more boxes and posh seating areas in the extension. If you filled in the questionnaire they  put out pre the stadium announcement it was very much focussed on the wealthier fan.  Also the matchday tickets and ability to by them precludes disproportionally those younger raucous fans.

Very few english clubs have held onto their once passionate fanbase, we never rivaled most, but like every club in england the culture has dissapeared.

Just saw this....

Footsteps of an NFL player...It's all over in England, it'll never return.

The part of the ground where I sit is full of

whinging old fogies tbh. They’re reluctant to clap even if we score a goal.

It’s actually pretty depressing.

I'm sure people want us to fail. This place is so negative. Then come the "I told you so".
