Moyes.

Same source that said Fatawu had done his ACL.

Would take that. Won’t be lovely football but there will be a clear plan and structure at least and he won’t play this awful high full back shite.

I heard a whisper that we have approached Darren fletcher, which I’m not too happy about.

No doubt about his experience as a commentator and broadcaster, but I’m not sure how that would translate to the dugout.

Reasonably good commentator but no managerial experience. Also a Forest fan.

Please don’t gamble Top!

Just get in a ‘safe pair of hands’ to see us safe

DO gamble Top… For goodness sake show some ambition and not continue with this awful scrape safety mentality

As much as Cooper comes across as a likeable bloke as our manager he's been pisspoor. I don't think we can do any worse whoever we get (famous last words 🤣

Moyes keeps us up. Again, someone who is grossly underrated. The football won’t be pretty. But it wasn’t exactly sexy under Cooper either.

Short term appointment then, which would be okay as it’s clear as daylight the club will be sold in the not too distant future.

I don't think Moyes would necessarily be a short term appointment

Cooper definitely was - you boot him out after 1 season if he keeps you up

With Moyes though I think you give him a couple of seasons to properly stabilise us then he goes when his contract runs out or something like that - unless he smashes it like he did with West Ham then you just keep him

Why is everyone saying Moyes would only be a short term replacement.  He was given time at West Ham and won a European trophy.  He’s still the best thing Everton have had in the last 30 years or so.

whoever comes in this season their primary job is keep Leicester up.  Doesn’t matter if you are Moyes, Pep, Klopp, anyone else.  The target this season is stay up.

Personally I’d be very happy with Moyes, and I’d be willing to give him time as he’s proven at this level when given room to do what he wants.

West Ham would love to have him back im betting.  He would do well here and no doubt improve us considerably if he was around for a few years.

Moyes keeps us up in my opinion. He’s not particularly exciting, but he is a safe pair of hands. And, I think he gets results on the board fairly quickly. He also will be respected by the players due to his longevity in the game.

One of the struggling teams were going to take the gamble on him, and probably stay up. West Ham were even talking about going back in for him.

His first game would likely be west ham as well

Moyes doesn’t excite me either but is a very sensible and totally understandable appointment. You appoint him to stay up.

Presume we've abandoned a focus on possession football then?

Moyes is old hat, despite winning the conference league their league form over the last two season was abysmal.

And they’ve massively kicked on this season without him!

I think this is why we've sacked Cooper now. I think one of the other relegation candidates are about to sack their manager as well so by acting now we get 1st choice

There are genuinely worse options.

We've just got rid of one tactically questionable nice guy who struggles against teams that aren't significantly weaker than his. Let's not get a replica.

Football is meant to be entertaining you know. Moyes is at the pragmatic end of a spectrum of pragmatism. WHam fans were desperate for him to leave. We need to consider a manager that might be with us for 3 years. Potter & RVN are better progressive options.

True but going on European tour is entertaining for the fans. The West Ham fans I saw in the channel tunnel coming back from their Lyon (I think) game when we had played PSV looked tired but happy. I'm not a fan of Moyes but he isn't without merits. A 3 year project would be good but I would venture that keeping us up should be the main focus. Most managers of teams outside the top 6 have to have some pragmatism because their players are usually up against players of an equivalent standard or better. Sometimes if you want entertainment guaranteed you have to go to see a musical.
