This is a massive risk. However, one thing I noticed about him when he took over at Man United for a few games is that he has an undeniable aura about him. He looked like the idea of managing a club that size didn't phase him. I'd like to think he'd have the respect of our players.

Totally.

Equally, had he been here in the summer, we wouldn’t have got dicked about by our various transfer targets that ended up elsewhere.

Heck, as a former prolific striker he might even be able to get a tune out of Daka!

He's a potential manager of the club not a miracle worker

He should’ve gone the moment he started cutting about in this, is this the man you want as the face of your football operation?

I was more thinking about what he could do for Cannon?

It will certainly get us a few places higher in the running order for MOTD each week, if we get Man Utd legend Ruud Van Nistelrooy in as manager.

Probably a good call seeing as we’ll need a new shirt sponsor (King Power) any time now…..

Because nobody with half a brain is offering him a job.

He'd be a good director of football for a number of clubs I think.  His ability to deliver a good culture is not to be sniffed at, just tactically not the man for the dugout.

It’s like an email but takes FUCHING longer to send you have to put a document in a machine called fax machine  to send it over a phone line !!

😉😂

It's like you wet signed a document, scanned it, emailed it to someone and they printed it only without the email step in the middle.  Awesome!

Cooper is an experienced manager who has survived a relegation scrap before but I'd rather chew my own foot off than have him back. Who gives a shit about credentials when your gaffa looks like this

Ruud van Nistelrooy: Dutchman exits Man Utd as new manager Ruben Amorim decides not to keep him in backroom staff - BBC Sport

You have to say he looks the fuching business.

They'd be no wall left if he asked me to run through it

Ruud Van Nistlerooy's Blue and White army for 90 on Saturday

Not at all, I agree with the decision to get rid of cooper, odd timing but still.

I just don’t understand the demand for RVN. Doesn’t make logical sense to me.

Your mistake is coming on FT and expecting logic. Mods, 24 hour ban please.

From watching his tactics video on YouTube, I can see the sense in it.

the problem is, we don’t have bakayoko, Simon’s etc. his system worked so well at psv because he had the team capable of playing it.

the annoying thing is, if we had signed him up in the summer, we would have spent the 30odd million we had on players that would move the squad closer to one who could play ruuds system. Instead, we’ve got loads of defensive midfielders and a few bang average strikers.

Who knows what will happen with Man City the way they’re foundering, but if they really do loan McAtee out in January I would hope we’d make every attempt to make that happen. Ruud’s system looks a lot more palatable with a true attacking mid like that in place. We’d have some serious competition for him, though.

RVN is not a novice, he has been a manager and most importantly he has earned his stripes as a coach and. assistant manager as well so he is very well rounded across all facets, managing PSV isn’t a gimme so he clearly has something about him.

We have always done pretty well when appointing ambitious managers with a point to prove and with the hunger, desire and ambition of progressing their careers, Little, McGhee, O’Neill, Adams, Pearson and then Enzo have all been successful examples of this, yes there were also times when it has delivered what we hoped but overall it has been a good strategy for us.

if we want to be a progressive club again then we need to have progressive managers rather than the tired set in their ways journeymen that we could have gone for as the safe perceived options. These types of managers have a limited shelf life and as shown with Cooper very quickly their methods and effectiveness become outdated.

We are potentially recruiting a manager who has managed a top club in Holland, delivering some success and coached/assisted at major tournaments with the Dutch national team, he is far from a novice.

Yes much rather someone with an appetite who has shown promise and with something to prove over someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing and has shown very little.

Cooper had a good run in the Championship with Forest which is where he belongs. No one can credibly claim he is a solid PL manager based on the evidence we have before our eyes.
