If you score 2 goals in the last 5 minutes of the game to get a point - you are at least a little itty-bit lucky.

I dont think so. Lots of games have goals in quick succession. Both goals were well worked, and the 2nd came from us pressing them and then attacking quickly. Its not as if we had something bouncing off the back off someone's head or something.

In the context of the game, i think we deserved something.

I've already made peace that is a short term fling, he's either rubbish (which doesn't look it so far) or he keeps us up and we build from there, given his stature in the game he will be at the top of the "big" teams hit list

Amorin already looks dodgy. Think Ruud will be at Man U either next season or the one after. Hes the real deal.

No denying that with Cooper in charge we would have lost that game, probably even heavier than 2-0.

He proper went for it with his subs too, throwing any attacking player on and up, deciding to leave Vardy on.

Some stability would be nice

If we survive under him this season, the narrative among the football press will be that he took us from 15th to 15th. Stay for a season or more, have a summer with us and take us to midtable or higher playing decent stuff and his stock rises.

Brighton hire a young German second division coach - they’re considered brilliant, innovative and forward thinking.

Leicester hire 10 year experienced Dutch legend, with both “big club” and international experience. Already a trophy under his belt. They’re considered reckless, stupid and should’ve stuck with Cooper.

I know the Brighton coach is more than just a second division promotion winner and has done very well for them but wonder had we hired Ruud before his stint at United if it would’ve had a different reception.

Given us structure and shape. An attacking identity too. Love that the players aren't afraid to go direct either.

The key bit for me is everyone looks a yard quicker. There was a moment in the first half where Kasey looked quicker than usual in a sprint.

The players are clearly onside with his ideas. Long may it continue.

Ruud Van Nisterooy is class! We are very lucky to have him, it’s onwards and upwards, we buy a decent player or two in January we will avoid relegation come April time imo.

In interviews he comes across as cool calm reflective calculating and knowledgeable. I so hope this works out. It's like chalk and cheese compared to Cooper.

Always feel cooper was never really sure of himself. I suppose in hindsight h knew the players were not buying in to his approach.

No more lucky than any other time during the 90 minutes.

I'm impressed with what he's done in a week. There already seems to be a bit more structure, particularly defensively, and that's what we've desperately needed.

If we can get a win against Wolves that would see us on or above 17 points from the first half of the season and that seems like a great foundation for survival.

Also expecting a much better transfer window with Ruud in place.

I agree. Even if we get relegated, I would be confident of an immediate return (unless points deduction unreasonable); it does seem he will only improve as a manager. He is a class above Cooper. Just hope he can strengthen squad and that wn't be dictated by Rdkin.

I wonder if Ruud had a good working relationship with Dan Ashworth at Man U, and whether Mr Ashworth fancies a new challenge?

Would be nice to know the reasons why they got rid of him first?

A few things

mainly that he gave ETH another deal rather than the tin tack

also, some of the players signed in the summer have been questioned by Amorim as per their adaptability to different systems

he also felt Southgate would be the best man for the job. That wouldn’t actually be the reason for him to be sacked. (Although many supporters would think that )

looks like he wasn’t particularly happy with the interaction with ratcliffe and brailsford  and they weren’t happy with some of his decision making
