Any chance Ruud is mates with Pep Lijnders? Just been sacked by Salzburg.

I'm guessing as they're both Dutch, they must be best friends or neighbours, or something.

Maybe, but it transpires Rodgers was lied to (That's not me making an argument in support of him btw, i'd have not given him another penny anyway, he wasted the best part of £200m, but don't forget 'He wasn't backed', but the point remains), Maresca seemed abit miffed about what he'd been promised and told, I dare say Cooper was too.

My point exactly. We've got previous.

We can all spin the narrative however we want but if Ruud can't pick the right team and the right tactics and motivate the players to victory in what is likely to be our last chance at getting points in 2024 Vs a side with a manager that's been there 3 days, a team in disarray with their 2 best players likely suspended then we are gonna have to consider starting a Ruud out thread.

No serious club sacks their manager after 4 games

We would not be any worse we were shit at Ipswich until someone got sent off.   plus our best winger is out , and out  the midfield was down to the bones and yes Ward might as well have been sat on the shi@er.   We need a Jan window and to give this a chance so absolutly no.

 Is this serious?

Let's be fair, Ruud has been against a resurgent West Ham and 2 top 6 sides in his first fortnight as manager. As well as losing our 3 best central midfielders.

As long as we see corrections and improvement that's all we can ask. If the same issues don't get fixed over a period of time, then it's an issue.

Making any judgement either way atm is completely pointless.

That being said - if Danny Ward starts the next game then him and anybody involved in that decision need sacking and banning from football :D

This is about where I stand - jury still out but it's bound to be. I fear it's getting worse before it gets better though and the Ward pick is a massive red flag.

He's got to do something about how many shots we're conceding.

I feel confident if he's backed in January (and the earlier the better) he'll sort this defensive problem out. He's already acknowledged there is an issue defensively, but with limited resources at his disposal and a non existent midfield at present, this is not a quick fix.

He had absolutely no chance Saturday with what was available- having to play skip and hamza in any prem starting 11 - nobody is covering that up not even prime pep - first 2 games he showed me enough to stay positive that it’s given us some hope - midfield will be miles better with soumare and winks and let’s hope to the heavens mads makes it - games like Newcastle away won’t decide if we stay in this league - if anything it gave him the opportunity to continue to see the ones that are and are not good enough to be in his squad moving forward and helps him know exactly what is priority in January - Sunday is big for him and us in general as they need to keep that bit of belief they can pick up points against the more average sides - we need to back him - it literally is the only way we stay up

Pretty sure the Cooper out thread was started before the season started

So you are seriously saying that after 1 win, 1 draw and 1 defeat, we should start the process of getting him out?

Results so far have pretty much been exactly what I was expecting/hoping for going into the games.

Was hoping to beat West Ham with new bounce

Was hoping could beat Brighton as at home and on the high after West Ham win, but was happy with a draw (especially afterwards given circumstances). Wouldn't have been surprised/criticised if we lost, though.

Newcastle thought there was no hope given the lack of availability in centre midfield.

The issue is the midfield.

The reason we getting so pounded at the back, is the opposition can just stroll through our midfield with ease.

I would consider something akin to a 4-4-2, 2 defensive mids, one play maker in there, the 4th someone who move between midfield and winger duties, then the front two would either be two strikers or one winger and a striker.  We need to stop teams just jogging to our back 3rd, for some reason most LCFC fans arent recognising this issue, I dont know if its they only pay attention when its near the goal, they just relying on highlights, no idea, but its the main problem.

The change defensively would be to make sure we double up on both sides defensively, so JJ and Kristiansen not left alone, most games they stranded.  This is something @StriderHiryu picked up on.

The players were always going to put a shift in first couple of games under a new manager. Restricted with the injuries bit no idea why people think he will succeed other than having been a brilliant player.

He's bought one coach with him as he fell out with the staff at PSV which doesn't bode well.

I think he was the wrong pick but lets see.

This is what concerns me about Sunday....players putting a shift in for a new manager and our lot thinking about their Xmas puddings

I think a new RB is the most importantly RVN has plugged one hole by not playing faes but Justin is a liability

He's a much bigger gamble than RVN. Hot headed, never managed in this cou usentry, and his glory days are a while ago now.

Ruud has recent experience in the Prem, is a nice guy, and could potentially be a top manager.

The difference is that Victor Pereira has vast experience of managing clubs, players and teams from so many different continents. And he's always wanted to manage in the EPL, so I think he'll put in the extra yards. Plus he's actually rated quite highly by his peers.

He is abit of a hothead but so is some Wolves players so I really think theres going to be exciting times for Wolves.

RVN hasn't had that much experience and I've read he fell out with his staff, the players and owners 😳
