No 90 mins of excruciating pain. No throwing furniture around the house. Whats not to like? Actually thought this tbh 1

A very average but young and hard running City went up there and won 2-1, a result much more unexpected than the one coming up on Boxing Day. We were the worst team in the league then too. It won’t happen with this lot because they don’t work hard enough and modern coaches don’t go man to man and stop teams playing. I think this was the one the week after we lost away at Exeter in the FA Cup. That was a long drive home and so couldn't face the trip to Anfield. 2

Death by Football Posted 23 December 2024 Posted 23 December 2024 If Mads isn't fit I'm not even going to watch this. It will be bleak enough with Mads playing but if Ward is in then we are conceding double figures. Think I'll start drinking about 11:00am then there's a good chance I'm already asleep before kick off. 1 1
Cincinnati Fox Posted 23 December 2024 Posted 23 December 2024 Why do we always get Liverpool and Man City 26/28th when the fixtures are random? 4
Wymsey Posted 23 December 2024 Posted 23 December 2024 Darren Bond is the referee for this one; and Michael Oliver for Man City.
tickler28 Posted 23 December 2024 Posted 23 December 2024 In the past even in the great escape season we might have had a slither of hope we'd get some result.....now we literally have none

They aren’t random There’s a certain criteria for distance over Christmas that’s used and the police get to veto certain dates too and the PL have certain rules to eg they’d never have a big 6 head to head on the final day Edited 23 December 2024 by MattFox

Because they're not truly random and they have to make allowances for some games to be better suited at times of the year than others. Fixtures are generated based on the predetermined elements they put in. It's beneficial for us to play those teams as they're decent distances for both sets of travelling fans, especially with public transport strangled over Christmas. They'll also avoid massive rivalry games over the festive season, too. We used to play Ipswich quite a lot over Xmas as well.

Salah is unbelievable. One of the best players I've ever seen and surely now one of Liverpool's greatest ever players. Players like that don't need pace when they've got it all in their brain.
Foxes96 Posted 23 December 2024 Posted 23 December 2024 Stolarczyk Hamza - Okoli - Vestergaard - Kristiansen Winks - Soumaré BDCReid - Buonanotte - El Khannous Vardy 1
Nalis Posted 23 December 2024 Posted 23 December 2024 The best part of it is the 8pm kick off time just to prolong the agony

And with it being 8pm I'll probably feel obliged to chuck it on, I might earn myself some brownie points and offer to take the kids to bed to stop me watching.
Pliskin Posted 23 December 2024 Posted 23 December 2024 Us forfeiting would definitely produce a better result! The goal difference certainly wouldn’t take as much of a battering!
StanSP Posted 23 December 2024 Posted 23 December 2024 Anything under 5-0 and I'd be 'happy'. I cannot think under any circumstances where we win. We've not even got it in us to shit house a win.
blueharmie Posted 23 December 2024 Posted 23 December 2024 Massive loss They could play the under 14s girls and we would loose.
Blodge96 Posted 23 December 2024 Posted 23 December 2024 GK - anyone but Ward RB - anyone but JJ CB - anyone but Coady/Vestergaard/Faes CB - see above LB - Kristiansen CM - Soumare CM - Winks CAM - Bilal RW - Buonanette ST - Daka LW - Monga

SouthStandUpperTier Posted 23 December 2024 Posted 23 December 2024 We'll invoke the spirit of '81 and '84. Smash 'n' grab 2-1 win. Book it.

Tielemans63 Posted 23 December 2024 Posted 23 December 2024 We'll definitely lose, and probably pretty heavily. Two things might stop it being a cricket score. 1) They are likely to rotate having played their best 11 v Spurs. 2) The mental schedule over Christmas means they might have to manage their exertions. I can see them being 4 up at half time and then taking their foot off the pedal. If they're in the mood.... I dread to think what might happen.

To be fair, Slot might look at us and just think we will be a simple three points…. So I can see them getting some quick fire goals and then just sitting back and cruising. They won’t need to get out of changing room, let along 3rd gear to beat us! 1
