Loan to buy means you have to 'lock' the future price. Why do we need to do that? His stock is not diminishing currently. It's going up.

In relation to who though and what base price?

We paid 8m for him which is out of reach for a lot of the clubs that might be interested.  No Prem club will want him so you're then limited to whichever champ clubs have that kind of money to spend on a striker, and the majority of those that do, don't need him.  We can always set the price high if we're selling to a promotion chasing side.  Setting a price doesn't mean we're necessarily getting done. Could work out the opposite.  Get a deal like with Fatawu, compulsory purchase on promotion with Sheff Utd and we could set a price of £12mill.  We make a profit on someone who has barely touched a ball for us and can use that money on 2 players.  If Cannon scored a solitary goal for them they'd still need to pay.

I see something in him and he's contracted until 2028. Don't see the rush to shift him unless we are going to make 2-3x what we paid for him

Just me that thinks we should recall him this week? I’m surprised we’re not considering doing so as it seems to be the most failsafe option, especially from a financial perspective.

Stoke have just recalled their striker from Walsall, might mean cannon is getting recalled for sale by us.

Tbf hasn’t he scored 15 so far this season? I’d guess they are going to give him a chance regardless of the if cannon stays.

Either that or they want him to be in League 1 as he's taken the piss in league 2 lol

I mean, this is him compared to Daka, who most of our fans despise, playing in a lower league.

I question any stat source that says Patson Daka's accuracy is 100% lol

Cannon?

“He’s one on the list for us. We keep a close eye on him. Tom’s situation is closely assessed. There are decisions to be made on that. It’s still a possibility (he stays at Stoke). But we’re looking at what is best for his situation and what is best for the club.”

He's scored 6 non-penalty goals in 22 games, he's not cut out for the PL

Non penalty xG of 5.8

Is he getting enough quality chances to actually be able to score more than that?

Stoke are shit but 14th for xG for, so he's part of the problem imo.

Even in the limited league minutes for us last season (4.8 nineties) he was only at 0.32 xg per 90. I just don't think he's alive enough in the box consistently to get into good positions. I actually quite like him, he's combative and he's great at half chances but that's not the hall mark of player capable of scoring 10+ in the PL.

Interesting words from Ruud, wouldn't be surprised if we are hoping we cancel Edouards loan and bring Cannon back, freeing up a domestic loan slot for a centre back.

Or maybe there is interest in Daka, if we can’t shift Eduoard back to Palace, maybe we are considering cutting our losses on Patson, I think Cannon could provide cover/rotation for Vardy and offers more potential and in the event we are relegated he is ready made for that league.

Would rather take £10m for Daka and shift his wages off the books than a similar fee for Cannon who in my opinion will have a greater sell on and be better suited for where we are than Daka, who even in the championship after an initial burst absolutely tanked.

Easily a 20 goal a season championship striker, can’t afford to let him go in our current situation

Disagree, we are currently a premier league club and if selling him for £10m helps us to stay up then it’s the right idea. It’s obviously a risk but there we go.

Write in an option to buy at a decent price.
