Faes is an absolute liability. The second half of 23/24 he must of cost us atleast 5 goals with his ridiculous decision making. Id rather have a solid CB that is a good defender but not so great on the ball then vice versa

Me too. The problem is there’s been scarce evidence that Okoli is good defender.

He’s been as much of a liability as faes so far if we are honest with ourselves. the only hope for our backline is Nelson and souttar tbqh

Tbf Faes looked like a capable defender in the Championship. I'd be up for giving Okoli another crack of the whip, we've only seen him play in a side where literally everyone looked shit and we were getting pumped every week.

Faes looked better as the left back/centre back in the Championship for me.

You cant really judge a player when they're getting parachuted in the team for the odd game. Okoli only really played under Cooper and he did ok in those games. The problem we have is that nobody's going to take Coady and Vesty off our hands. Therefore we need to sell other CBs to compensate.

We're managed by a poor manager. That's not Okoli's fault...

Odd if true as if I’m correct his book value is £10.4m?

I think this is some of the issue with PSR and how the punishment is dealt with, there are grey areas where the club are seen to be trying to make a difference.

From an accounting perspective if it happens in the same period surely it reduces the final loses?

I’d guess that everyone is for sale for the right price. It’s not going to happen, but if someone pays £30m for a player we bought for £12m after last season then we take it every day of the week.

too right but the thing is, you know some italian team will try and chance it again, plead poverty and want a loan with no obligation to buy, kinda like with VK before

Then we probably won’t sell, like we didn’t with VK.

I imagine this is as much his desire to move on if the right move materialises. I have a feeling there is a number of players who have asked their representatives to try and get them a move back to top flight football, especially players who are established international players or who have been involved or on fringes especially with the World Cup fast approaching.

Players like Okoli, VK, Faes etc will not want to hang around in the championship for a season and run the risk of being left in the international wilderness.

This will hopefully be on top of players such as Coady, Ayew, BDCR, Soumare, Daka  etc who need moving on for squad rebuilding purposes.

If we sell Vestergaard, Okali, Faes and Kristiansen, we should be able to invest in a meal for two at Loughborough Toby Carvery,

just goes to show the impact of buying younger players can have. Currently the players being linked away are VK, bilal, Okoli, Nelson, mads, jakub. Monga, Paige.  Even if players don’t particularly  smash it, they can still be moved on becuase there is time and potential.

Coady is of course the exception but I have a feeling it will fall through.

The only players anyone wants to buy from us are the ones on lower wages and age on their side. I hate that we do the opposite.

Coady will leave. He's brilliant at talking crap and sucking up to managers so Russell will take him fortunately

We're stuck with Vesty Winks and Skipp though

I reckon Okoli could fetch the 12 we bought him for, that's about it though

Yeah I agree, If we think we can get 12 for okoli it proves my point. If he was 30 and played the same amount and ability as he has, you simply don’t sell him.

‘Part’ of raising £30 million ..

no way someone pays 30 for him let alone an italian side paying 12. They will deal in  loans with an option to buy and never follow through.

The key word there is Part - 12 would be part of 30.

I know someone who works closely with him fairly regularly and talks a fair amount to him, haven’t spoken to them in a month or so but last I heard he is happy to be here and doesn’t want to move on, pinch of salt as I’d imagine if an obvious upgrade comes in it’ll change things but doesn’t sound like he wants to go… funnily the guy also works with Woyo too

"Already started?" We should have been selling players weeks ago.

Okoli gets away it because he's been here less time but he's not very good, clearly had aspirations to play for Italy and has been trying to leave - apparently - since halfway through the season?

If we can sell him without making a loss we absolutely should.
