Last new starter to make his first app at the Tottenham Stadium was Wout in Sept 22, we scored two that day.

Forgot the final score????  Anybody help me......

Hope this isn't a repeat for Woyo, bless him.  Wout never recovered.

Final score was 6-2

I'm struggling to comprehend what paperwork would have been required (and where the delay was) to prevent him from even training since he signed?

I doubt it was anything but something our end, but could it have been international clearance or something like that?

Woyo Coulibaly: "I seized the opportunity represented by the Leicester City project"

As he was coming to the end of his contract with Parma, Franco-Malian right-back Woyo Coulibaly , courted by Fiorentina and Trabzonspor , has just made his transfer to Leicester City official.

On the occasion of his signing, the 25-year-old spoke about his decision to join the Premier League:

"I have seized the opportunity that the Leicester City project represents. It will allow me to progress considerably in my career and to have a high-level experience. I will do everything to adapt as best I can to this new situation. The welcome I have received has been extremely warm, and I am determined to give the best of myself."

After three and a half years at Parma, where he played more than 80 matches, Woyo Coulibaly is taking on a new challenge with a team in difficulty, but remains resolutely ambitious. He clearly states his objectives:

"My goal with my new club is to help them become one of the best teams in the league. Leicester City is a great club, and I am committed to giving my all. Through collective and individual efforts, we will achieve the goals we have set for this season."

Very soon, Leicester City will play their match of the 22nd day of the English championship against Fulham.

The seized opportunity bit means I've had a nice pay rise for the  next few years ,not sure he knows or realises the Leicester  project will be championship  football with a toxic stadium  atmosphere, with team mates seeing contracts  out and not giving a toss, but anyway , Wecolme.

I've explained at length in other threads, but the posts have been deleted.

When you submit the international clearance application, it is sent to his previous association (Italy). They have UP TO 3 days to do the relevant checks on him and the move and agree on the registration transfer to his new association (England).

If he signs on Tuesday and we submit it then, the approvals could take until Friday. This would prevent him from training here until the move to England is approved. And if it comes through at 1pm Friday, it would mean he couldn't take part at all, because he's missed the noon deadline.

In other threads people used the Faes transfer as an example of us messing up. Again, we announced it pending international clearance and Faes missed the squad of the next game for the very same reason. The clearance didn't come through in time for the next game deadline.

Perhaps if we're Man City spending £70m on someone, the international clearance might get fast-tracked by the other association. But we're not.

If a deal is announced "Pending international clearance" then it means the player may well not be available for an upcoming game. If it's announced and we don't say that, then it's likely they can go straight into the squad, if the manager deems them ready.

That couldn’t have been ready in the last 18 days that the window has been open?

This guy was basically signed on Tuesday. How in God's name has so-called paperwork not been completed in time for him to play today? Total and utter incompetence by the club.

You can't submit for international clearance in advance. It can take three days to come through, as it goes to Italian FA who need to process certain checks and then approve the deal.

Pretty sure Adrien Silva wasn't even allowed to train with the first team after we mucked up his transfer, so international clearance and work permit issues can really be strict on what activities you can undertake.

I remember Neil Lennon saying that his next move was between Leicester or Ron Atkinson's Coventry.  I think we were probably Championship at the time and Cov were PL.  Martin O'Neill turned up at Lennon's digs with a takeaway pizza and talked him into it.

Tbf, I could imagine Martin O'Neill being able to sell coal to Newcastle.

If I remember rightly, it was alleged that when Lennon was interviewed at Cov Atkinson asked him what position he played.  Of course, it also helped that Lennon and O'Neill shared a common Irish background  and were both avid Celtic supporters (well, nobody's perfect :D).

Good for him to get a taste of it for the final few minutes.

Lost the ball, won it back. Decent very quick look at the lad.

Not going to jump to any knee jerk conclusions, but based on that short cameo he’s either absolute pony or the best RB in the league.
