Popular Post moore_94 Posted 24 January Popular Post Posted 24 January If we let Wilf go it would probably be what finally tips Ruud over the edge https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/ruud-van-nistelrooy-gives-defiant-9891386 Asked if he would be willing to let Ndidi go, the City manager replied: “No, of course not. Wilfred is a key player and person in the squad and in the club and I’m glad he is nearly there to help the team again. “We know how much we’ve missed him and we know we need him. Wilf is key in the coming months, a key part of this team that can get us out of this situation.” 8

James_lcfc Posted 3 February Posted 3 February He mustn't fancy another season in the Championship then, which is understandable. That is his level now though, so nobody from a decent league is ever going to pay money for him. He couldn't get a gig elsewhere when he was on a free!
Popular Post jonny_wright Posted 3 February Popular Post Posted 3 February At the point now where I want them all gone tbh, hate them all 6
kenny Posted 3 February Posted 3 February Ruud has said in interviews about him coming back, its clear he is a first team starter. We would be mad to let him go, its not like we are banking £30m in fees from the deal.

He was in the PFA team of the year when he helped Norwich win the league. Would like to keep Ndidi, but everyone must have a price. 1
st albans fox Posted 3 February Posted 3 February His agent hasn’t just sent a watsap this morning to them ! agents talk to clubs all the time maybe we would have been interested three weeks ago but not now.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 3 February Posted 3 February Don't forget he did this before when his contract was almost up, got no offers and then signed here saying how much he loved us. 1
coolhandfox Posted 3 February Posted 3 February Say what you want about Wilf but we collected 14 pts with him and 3 without him this season. 4

Exactly, if we let him leave today what is the point? We have half a chance with in in the side, but pretty much no chance without him. 1
Lesta Legend Posted 3 February Posted 3 February Agent knows we’re doomed and wants to avoid his client taking a wage cut. They know will reject reasonable offers for him come summer. If we have any chance of staying up it’s a fully fit Wilf.

Its an identical rumour to the one from May 2024. I reckon its BS.

Claridge Posted 3 February Posted 3 February He was not good enough for us 3 yrs ago. Now one of our best players. What a decline 1
Md9 Posted 3 February Posted 3 February If we can get money for him then we probably should sell he will no doubt ne injured again a few weeks after coming back so cash in while we can 1

coolhandfox Posted 3 February Posted 3 February The only way I'd sell Wilf is if we can get the Dutch lad in from OHL quickly. 1
moore_94 Posted 17 February Posted 17 February https://soccernet.ng/2025/02/atletico-madrid-betis-monaco-nigerian.html Leicester City and Nigeria midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has emerged as a key summer target for Atletico Madrid and Real Betis, with AS Monaco also showing strong interest in securing his signature, Soccernet.ng reports. The 28-year-old, who has been a crucial part of Leicester’s squad in recent years, is expected to leave the club at the end of the season despite signing a new contract last summer. Atletico Madrid, in particular, are keen to reinforce their midfield as they look to find a long-term replacement for club captain Koke Resurrección, who is entering the latter stages of his career. The anticipated departure of Thomas Lemar has also increased the urgency for reinforcements at the Metropolitano. Atleti’s sporting department has been actively scouting midfielders over the past few months, with Mallorca’s Samu Costa among the names on their shortlist. However, Ndidi’s ability to break up play and provide defensive stability has made him a serious candidate for the role, according to a report by CaughtOffside. The Super Eagles star is not new to interest from Spanish clubs with Barcelona previously linked with his services but no concrete moves followed. Atletico are not alone in their pursuit of Ndidi. Fellow La Liga side Real Betis are also in the market for a defensive midfielder, with reports suggesting they are preparing for the departure of Johnny Cardoso, who is linked with a summer switch to Tottenham Hotspur. Meanwhile, Ligue 1 side AS Monaco have been tracking Ndidi for some time and reportedly made a £20 million bid for him during the winter transfer window. That offer, which included an obligation to buy and additional performance-based payments, was turned down by Leicester, who opted to keep the midfielder as they push to retain their Premier League status. Despite Leicester’s stance in January, it is widely expected that Ndidi will depart in the summer, with all three clubs preparing fresh approaches. Ndidi has endured a stop-start campaign due to injury, with a hamstring problem limiting his involvement earlier in the season. However, he has recently regained fitness and is beginning to feature more regularly under Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy. Although his playing time has been somewhat restricted this season, Leicester still value his experience and leadership, which made them reluctant to sell in January. However, with his contract running until 2027, the club could demand a substantial fee should they decide to cash in during the upcoming transfer window.
Stadt Posted 17 February Posted 17 February (edited) Can't begrudge him wanting to leave. He's been here since 2017, his standards are still high and more or less everybody else is shit. He stuck by us in the championship once and he's far better than that level, hence these rumours. Edited 17 February by Stadt 2
RowlattsFox Posted 17 February Posted 17 February Can't understand why no-one picked him up on a free last summer - he was clearly open to the idea. Can't help but like the guy, and we are better with him in the team (but feel this highlights a bigger problem with the squad, rather than Ndidi being particularly great). Finds himself in some great positions and would score plenty if he had a bit more composure.
