If the rest of the back line speak French that would be absolutely fine ... Faes would understand but Coady, Vestergaard, Justin, Thomas and the other defenders?  And Stolarczyk? Or Van Nistelrooy?

I think you're worrying about nothing tbh. They're not shouting complex instructions to eachother, all they basically need to be able to say is the other player's name and a probably a couple of very simple instructions, that's it. They should know their roles before they step on the pitch.
