Yeah I mean he looked rusty with his feet but bringing Mads up for discussion after a day like that is daft. The defending was f cking horrific he is not the one to be pointing the finger at, at all.

It is. 2001/02 runs it close due to the 12-0 aggregate home defeats by Bolton, Southampton and Derby. 2003/04 at least had plenty of goals and were in games until late.

 

This lot have been outplayed most weeks, are now getting beaten without trace and giving away schoolboy goals. Still amazed we have 17 points, about 10 more than we merit. We are hopeless at virtually everything.

2 years ago, our squad did not deserve to be relegated, but the seeds were there with Rodgers and Faes. 2 years later, our team is genuinely shxt and we still have Faes. Vesty, although I like him more after last season, is still way too slow and positionally crap to be a PL defender. He was at Southampton when we beat them 9-0. Can’t run and gets turned too easily. He was responsible for the first two goals for standing outside of the Everton forward.

 

Our problem is that we spent millions on a defence that is so poor. Added Justin who can’t defend.

 

There is a reason why Cooper chose to focus on one winger and play on one side of the pitch because at least we can have a better defence. We can’t play too open like RVN as it is being shown to be the case in hindsight especially without the wingers to do it.

I have only just watched the goals this morning. I was expecting it to be bad but somehow I am completely shocked at what I have just seen.

 

I wouldn’t expect to see that level of defending from a non-league side against a premier league side in the cup. There are absolute basics that kids do when defending. I really can’t get my head around it.

 

Faes and Vestergard are bad but come on, they aren’t that bad. I can only come to the conclusion it is intentional. Making a point? Match fixing?

he has a real fear factor of getting in there where it may hurt..

Absolutely ****ing disgusting, there was no effort, desire or fight from the players. They gave up after 6 minutes.

 

Playing a high line with no pressing is suicide, Everton had so much time to pick the pass for the goals, crazy. 

 

Everyone should be fined the maximum wages we can.

Honestly professional players should not be making mistakes like that over and over again. 10 seconds for goodness sake. I've seen kids defend better than that. Heck, I do better and is saying a lot.

 

All of them looked incompetent on that pitch. They need to donate their wages to the fans that came. The players should be ashamed of themselves. I'd make them watch that over and over again. 

 

One pass for 3 goals bypassed our whole team...one pass, it wasn't even a clever one!

Just seen that first goal! Liverpool Council have just received the planning permission request from Vestergaard to change direction. For the 3rd neither CB knew where Beto was and there were several incidents of Winks and Faes just walking, so no more “100%”, “Give it everything” bulls**t quotes, we can see what you are. Make them watch the 90 minutes then say “if you’re happy with your performance you can leave the room, everyone else will stay and watch it again.”

The worst thing about this performance was that it was never obvious we were losing...

I mean at no point did we attempt to chase the game, we just continued as if we were there to helping an Everton attacking training.

 

The defence were clueless - did you know we have 4 International Centre Backs (Ok so Okoli has only been called up by Italy)? I've honestly no idea where these are, when they play for their country they are so much better.

 

Effort... there isn't any... for the 2nd premier league season in a row we have a squad that has already given up

If we had kicked off, passed back to Mads and he would have gone direct I can guarantee one of their centre backs would have dealt with it - that’s on them.

 

2nd and 3rd goals were a combination of poor positioning/line from the centre backs and getting the press wrong allowing them time and space to pick a pass.

 

4 goal is a calamity and all I could do is laugh when it went it - a non league side wouldn’t concede that.

 

The performance is due to a combination of poor management/tactics and players who aren’t doing the basics right - that combination leads to one thing

I actually can’t believe how slow Vestergaard is. For a professional PL footballer, it is staggering. 
 

Some of those balls in behind him have been the softest goals I’ve seen us concede all season. 
 

Again, this is on Rudkin for giving him a 3 year extension. Pathetic.

That’s Soumare at his sharpest.  Completely brain dead. Vestagaard turning outwards as well to give even more time and distance. How can we have the weakest Danes around. 

 

The cbs are starting the problems in this team.  Playing slowly out the back high up the pitch and trying to work compact areas against teams that actually press. Caught out by route one balls because one is slower than a tanker and the other on a different planet. 

 

Soumare having an afternoon jog and Winks being bypassed by the cbs so can offer nothing else. 

 

JJ then doesn’t help by being useless at everything he does.  Dad’s Army up front and the chuckle brothers passing around at the back. 

Only Bilal comes out of this team without a scathing assessment.

There's not another team as stupid as us.

 

- Soumare cannot play in a midfield two. I'm not sure how much more proof is needed, maybe a second relegation will knock some sense into them. He doesn't have any positional sense or tracking ability. He spent a year on loan after we got relegated trying this, then after promotion he's walked back in and we're doing the same again for another relegation.

- Kristensen was a mess in the second half of the relegation season. We sent him out on loan, whilst we gained promotion and he's walked back in like Soumare did to be part of another diabolical defence and relegation.

- Danny Ward, as above spends a year out of favour, comes back into the equation in the PL. Starts the biggest game of the season, calamities happen.

- Vestergaard has spent years out of favour whilst we were in the PL, we couldn't shift him for love nor money. A year in the championship under Enzo and we're waving another 3 year contract, despite the glaringly obvious signs he's not going to cut it in the PL.

 

And then add the garbage we've gone and bought in the summer and a front three of old men. Heads in the sand running the show.
