Thats been going on for at least 10years. It's a GPS/heartbeat tracker, gives the sport science and analyst guys upstairs on their laptops info to feed back on performance etc. Theyre very widespread, you see non-League wearing them in FA Cup ties these days.

Yeah I've seen them before just seems a large escalation I guess with so much importance but on collecting data at all levels its the norm now, always looks silly though lol.
