West Ham in 2007-9 got around 25-30 million in fines for signing Tevez and Mascherano, which Sheffield United believe cost them the prem place.

This would imply that Southampton are interesting enough for the authorities to have a a vendetta against them, which is a mental thought

In a game with so much money doshing about, I don’t think a financially penalty is any real deterrent to possibly gain points. 
 

Knowingly cheating to get an advantage, you deserve all you get.  For once, I think the efl have got this spot on. Especially adding in a points deduction for next season as obviously they may have gone on to lose in the playoffs anyway. They have compromised the whole league tbqh. 
 

Targeting clubs who are in administration and already suffering with a points deduction is 1000 times worse than this.

Zero acknowledgment from them that Saints initially try to deny they did it and then presented with evidence pleaded guilty. 

 

Your ability to defend your club when they've actually admitted it is zero.

Totally agree. Southampton's faux outrage at the punishment is beyond belief. They stood to gain £200M through cheating.

I don’t think it’s faux. They genuinely seem to believe they’ve been stitched up by Steve Gibson and a former analyst.

Southampton have confessed to spying on Boro so it doesn't matter whether the photo is real or not.

Bindweed is not a bush. It twines around other plants. The flowers do look like bindweed but on my phone the image gets very pixelated in close up.
