Bang on. We've already spent a decade with a DOF who had no credible experience to warrant being given the role at such a club so might as well give it to another novice who can be controlled.

 

This is why I think any call for change shouldn't just be directed at Rudkin, it's the entire ownership. Getting rid of Rudkin or moving him aside will be the responsibility of the group of people who have presided over our decline already, a scary thought.

1000% This is the kind of appointment they’ll make if they’re moving Rudkin out of his role, that being the key phrase because he’s never leaving the business.

 

He’ll be moved into a broader director role or something like “Head of King Power Sports” that will encompass LCFC, Leuven and anything else they add to the portfolio.

 

Nothing against Friend, I’m sure we don’t know enough about him to judge him but this would strike as a yes man appointment who won’t have enough standing in the role due to his inexperience to really challenge anything. Similar to what the FA do with the England teams.

 

Also, side note, Wes Morgan completed his sporting director qualifications and we let him go to Forest. Bloke should have had a job for life here and he’d of been ideal for this kind of appointment. I’d imagine Wes sees right through the shit show though.

Exactly this. This wouldn’t be the first time that Rudkin would appoint someone to replace him in order that he can control them. See Academy Manager, Ian Cawley for reference. He replaced Rudkin and there was shock and bemusement among many of the experienced and seasoned coaches at Leicester that a PE Teacher with no experience of football at any serious level became Academy Manager. It was and still is all about control by one man.

There can't be much doubt that Rudkin is a 'football man'. It's his (lack of) business acumen that's the problem.

By the way i'm still reading nothing in to this. He's clearly been sacked for poor performance.

 

Lets not forget this alleged meeting happened during the transfer window, DOF meets DOF to discuss potential loans.

 

Keep this open if you want to create some laughs though lol

If he has been sacked why is he staying on to ensure a smooth transition for the new guy? Sounds like working your notice, as you have a new job to me.

 

Not saying its with us either, could be 2+2 = 5.
