If I were to be asked I'd say

Mismanagement of the club, given the context of where we COULD have been.

Most expensive squad to be relegated, when we had more than enough to stay up.

Continued poor signings and poor decision making.

The stalled stadium development.

Seemingly taking on an unregulated bitcoin crypto scam as shirt sponsor.

None of us expected to be regularly in Europe after the title win but what we did expect was to hold onto 4th when we had it, two seasons in a row and to have a financial plan in place that would avoid PSR cock ups.

When we decided to let go of key staff members, or when they jumped ship themselves. That period of time around 2021-2022 during Rodger’s campaign led to our slow and painful demise.

The protests organised this weekend have really made me reflect. If an outsider or the press were to ask why are you protesting? what would most Leicester fan's actually say

It feels like things have been going downhill for us since about the start of 2022 for me. The game that really sticks in my mind is the 3-2 home loss to Spurs. We let in two goals in injury time and just a month later, we were thrashed 4-1 by Forest in another humiliating loss. I remember Rodgers saying the squad needed a refresh and some players had better contracts perhaps had lost their hunger. Since then the club’s decision making has been amateur to say the least (aside from last season where Enzo did manage to get our act together at a lower level). Letting hundreds of millions in talent walk away on free's. Being close to breaching PSR. A transfer strategy that no one can make sense of. And what do we hear from the club? Nothing but complete silence, fans just expected to cheerlead the team on and never question anything. And almost certain relegation for the second time in three years. It really does make you feel disillusioned.

So what would you actually say?

Think you probably got it about right, its over that 6 month period, Rodgers was getting bored/demotivated, Top & Rudkin didn't invest, Rodgers spat the dummy, we looked a couple of times like we might right the ship & then they left his sacking too late, shouldn't have had Waldorf & Statler in charge for Bournemouth & Villa, Madders missed peno & the club crumbled. Enzo took a strong base and got us back up, then PSR scared managers & players away.

They wasted loads of money on Edouard, BDCR, Skipp, probably Ayew, and we are where we are.

I said 5 years after we went down, wasn't expecting this immediate return, thought we'd survive, their PSR stupidity, never gave us a chance this season & then like domino's they make bad mistake after bad mistake & the successes are temporary or paper over the cracks, Mads, Fatawu (though he hasn't truly proved it yet in the top flight) & BEK.

We'll go down at a lower base than 2 years ago, that is just crass mismanagement & stupidity.

For me personally it was the Notts Forest cup game, walked out of that ground knowing it was all over.

Same here. My son was saying Rodgers needed to go long before that game, but after that performance, I had to agree. It was a harbinger for what was to come.

While we didn't appreciate it at the time, things started heading South when Claudio/Rudkin started to dismantle Pearson's structures. That's when we started to lose control of recruitment, contracts and player sales. (Puel/Macia's eye for a player bucked the trend for a spell.)

Definitely that Spurs game for me. I remember being in a daze after, wondering what had just happened. 2-1 up in injury time, and we had found a way to lose. The Forest game confirmed it, but for me it was the Spurs defeat.

When Fofana breaking his leg.

Cost us 13m + wages for a useless replacement.

Probably cost us qualification out of the European league groups stage, losing revenue and prize money that season.

Probably cost us a top 6 finish resulting in lost PL prize money that season and European football the following season.

Probably a 50m-70m swing in our finances.
