We will be getting relegated again. The mess behind the club isn’t conducive to a successful team.

Exactly this, been saying it all season this club is going straight to L1, rotten from top to bottom. Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded.

Deluded is strong . I think back-to-back relegation is possible, but not probable. The squad that we will be left with at the start of next season will be comfortably better than much of the championship and we have players currently on loan in the championship that have shown that they're good enough for that level.

Sheffield United had a squad of like 14 players before this season's transfer window and were given a point deduction and they look like they're probably going to come straight back up.

I wouldn't be surprised if we were to finish outside of the play-off places, even if we have a squad that should be doing better. I'll concede that.

You'll probably have to rebuild a bit, but Leicester is a club that should always aim to be in the Premier League. I don't see you rotting away down there for years like Leeds. Proper financial management is mandatory though.

If you go down, and you are not down yet, I think you'll be back sooner rather than later.

I'd rather take your lot than Scott Parker park the bus FC.

Truth is, very well. We almost walked it last year, we will be up there again. Much as the gulf between us and the Prem is massive,  its even bigger between the us and the rest of the champ bar Leeds and maybe Sheff U. Ridiculous,  but we could walk it again with a decent manager

Probably unpopular but I think Bobby and ayew would be very decent in the championship as back ups. Especially.  If we hold onto a fully fit Fatawu and mavididi again and play them both.

A lot are overestimating the quality of the championship. We’ll be nowhere near the bottom next season. It’s laughable to suggest we’ll get relegated again.

We’ll do very well, purely because of the left over quality in the squad and yet again, it will mask the real problems within the club.

Top will see this and being the big dumb dumb he is, will assume that we’re back on track (again). It’s annoying how predictable we are.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to rebuild the squad, bring through the promising youth players we have, clear out the money grabbing journeymen we’ve acquired and bring in promising players with a lot to prove. We won’t do this though.

We’ll hang around the top of the table with players like Jordan Ayew and Yannick Vestergaard and be encouraged by the dominating performances against footballing titans Walsall and Preston.

This is the Leicester City we’ll come to know over the next few years. Hooray.

There’s a lot of shit in the Chammo.
Our squad would comfortably finish 20th.

You’ll probably be play offs at least .

It’s a very very average league!

Agree, people seem to have forgotten how well Vestergaard and Faes looked last season. We had Ndidi playing as a makeshift box to box midfielder and he was great.

A team of something like

Stolarcyk

Woyo

Okoli

Vestergaard

JJ

Winks

Ndidi

Fatawu

Alves

Mavididi

Daka

Minus any incomings, subject to bans, could make the play offs with a half decent manager.

Leeds are currently on course do break 100 points. It's not a strong league. Provided that we down have a points deduction, us,  Southampton and Ipswich will be clear favourites to go up.

I’d be extremely surprised if wilf stays. He’s done well enough that someone will take him for a nominal fee and we’ll be happy to clear the wages

Jordan will tear it up in the Championship. 20 goals and 10 assists.

He’s had one season in France 10 years ago when he got 17 goal contributions. his best year since was 11.

What would make anyone believe at 34 he will be able to transform to someone who regularly contributes?

When alrbirghton went to west brom their fans thought, he’s going to smash this.

He had one good game with an assist and then did nothing. ( sorry Sharkey, I love you). that’s how it goes for most aging pros

He’s not someone like vardy who can defy time, and the championship is already his level. the most you can expect is his standard 7-8 goal contributions. But id bet he’d get 5 max and guess what, he’ll still completely slow down everything we do.

He can be a useful squad player who comes off the bench and helps us control a game and nicks a few but if he becomes key to us… we won’t finish in the top 10. I’m certain of that.

If Ruudkin is not removed, this Club will continue to slide backwards.  This should be the first departure amongst a raft of others. It would give the Club and immediate rush of hope.

You only have to look at Sheff Utd this season to see the gulf between the premiership and the Championship.  Sheff Utd who were getting thumped, like us, 4 and 5 last season.  Even with the poor squad we have we will finish top 6 in the Championship next season.  Yes, even with a points deduction.

I don’t think it’s that simplistic.

They were under invested in, a poor poor team but they were not a shambolically run club. They did a great job of forward planning but bringing young players into the side like Arblaster, Peck and Brooks who have been key for them this season.

They then recruited well for the Championship. Cooper, Burrows,  O’Hare, Ray-Sakyi even our own Harry Souttar.

We are a shambles. We will keep playing the OAPs, ignore our youth players and more likely chuck inflated wages at more failed PL players like Winks and Coady in the summer rather than recruiting wisely.

Bit insulting to Sheffield United to compare us to them tbh.

This squad will come straight back up especially with Souttar, Alves, Nelson coming back into the fold. Think we have enough talent that we can sell Hermansen and a couple others and keep BEK/Fatawu, all focus needs to be on signing centre halves and a striker who will allow us to compete back in the prem when we do get back up

I’m not sure how much luxury we will have financially with the last bit of your post.

Possibly the striker bit but centre halves wise, we have the following:

Faes

Okoli

Vestergard

Coady

Souttar
Nelson

Nelson might be the wildcard as he could go to the top if this injury doesn’t derail him. In terms of being able to get promoted, Nelson and Souttar coming back is literally two new signings for the Championship.

Further recruitment in this area (unlike up top where we will be really short assuming Vardy goes), will depend on outgoings.

I’d love us to ship out Coady, Faes and Vestergard and add a new addition to Nelson, Souttar and Okoli (who I am not ready to write off yet).

But is that realistic? I doubt it. If we could get rid of Coady and Faes and go with the other 4, we’d be well set for a promotion push in that area as I say. But thinking further ahead might have to wait.

Best thing that could happen for this team is every one gets sold and big IF we can buy players we get get a full fresh team

I agree we need a clear out however...

Problem is we do that and we'll be a forgotten championship side for years. From having £40m players we'll have £4m. We'll be part of the also rans in the league.

Our last big money signing will be £25m on Skipp. Let that sink in.

Yeah I can't see us being anything other than competitive in the championship just based on how big the gulf in class is getting.

Maybe more hope than expectation but I think even with this shower we'd hover around the playoffs at least. Look at the way we dispatched QPR in the cup.

That being said, there would be something extra depressing if we were relegated to League 1 ten years after winning the Premier League.

When we went down last time we had a number of players that were either out of contract or were sellable assets.

This time around I can see Vardy (😭) and the two keepers leaving on a free, the loan players going back and handful of our players being courted elsewhere:

Hermansen

Faes

Ndidi

Soumare

Keeping BEK is pivotal, if we can keep him he’ll boss that league.

There will be others that may go but I think that these are the obvious ones. In an ideal world we shift the high earners and replace with quality young players and loans.

Our success next year will depend on what sanctions are placed on us. If we have an embargo and a hefty points deduction it will make things tricky. My hope is that we are confident we can’t be punished for the same reason we won our battle with the PL. There would have been little point defending ourselves against one entity to then get relegated and shafted by the other.
