It's an absolute shambles but ultimately a reflection on those who constructed it. They've made just about every error imaginable, fallen into every single pitfall and trap. They've managed to acquire a squad of poor sell on value, paid a premium for intangibles, have recruited with a short term view yet will fall short of their short term arms quite significantly. It's the sort of thing that makes you feel like you could still make it in the game in some form. I honestly think there are people on here who couldn't have done a worse job of it.

You can't even get excited about a potential refresh in the Championship because I bet at least 8 of our XI on the opening day of next season was here this year.

Bringing in Skipp for £20m was ridiculous, signing a player well into his 20's that we all knew everything about. The Tottenham boardroom must have been high fiving each other just like the Liverpool boardroom about Danny Ward (yes I said it before we bought Ward).

Paying good money for players well into their 20's who have proved they're not good enough and are at peak value is ridiculous. We know all there is to know about them and they're not good enough, players like Skipp, Ward and Praet while we're at it should only be coming here for nominal fees or on a Bosman, £50m squandered on players who had little room for potential improvement and not good enough to walk in the first XI, we deserve everything we get.

Skipp is the criminal one for me.

Ayew and Reid I sort of get as they’re cheap-ish relative to what we have. They’ve also both at least contributed something this season, despite stinking the place out for 75% of the time.

Skipp was just an odd signing.

What on earth has BdcR achieved this season tho?

A missed kick that led to an assist..a goal that hit him in the face from a yard. No take ons,.no tackles, no progressive passes, no duals won, no headers won, no dribbles

The guy just exists. He's an extra in a movie. ,'man in bar'

Still more than Skipp for a fraction of the price lol

it is, so many players think they are better than they are, Faes for ones,

so so many of this squad need shipping out,

Faes, Coady, Vesty, VK, Soumare, Winks, Ayew, BDR, Daka, Ward, JJ, Ndidi, Vardy

get them all out, we need a complete fresh start, needs to be done

I'd rather watch man city put 15 past our under 18s than watch this bunch of crap ship 5 or 6 and lose again. Just play the kids from now on

Perez was the start of our recent run of terrible transfer policy. We desperately needed a right winger who could take on players and create from out wide and he just wasnt that.

Yes BCDR and Ayew are objectively worse but you have to factor in that we brought them in as a newly promoted championship side looking to stay up, Perez was brought in when we were a side looking to challenge for Europe and had more pull and more money to spend. Relative to the positions the club were in at the time the quality of the transfers were similar.

Just play our academy players. A transfer embargo might be the best thing to happen to the club, stops us bringing in PL experienced tossers who play like theyre just breaking into senior football.

I don't disagree, Though it's all pointless if we don't rebuild the structure around the Football side of the Club.  Rudkin is clearly not up to the job.

Glover hasn't proved any good either though that may not be his fault. But recovery depends on who we bring in as a DOF.

Then and only then will we move forward again as a Football Club.

Perez was and is significantly better than the current crop of players we have. He was also a major part of a squad of players that ground out results to keep us in and around the top end of the table, albeit falling short of Champions League football.

I still think we suffered by loaning both him and Albrighton out during the last relegation season, as at least they worked hard on the pitch, unlike Maddison and Tielemans who looked to have downed tools at times by that point.

Agreed; When the chips are down you need fighters, and we loaned them out and relied on very talented but a bit lightweight players.

We’ve got to strike a balance though at the same time.

Kristiansen has the righting spirt but limited ability.

You’ve only got to look at the numbers Perez has done in Spain since leaving us to realise he has ability. We Just used him incorrectly.

Matt Piper on Radio Leicester basically said to put the kids into the first team the likes of Monga, Golding, Evans and recall will Alves from Cardiff they’ll play their hearts out for the club, I’m tending to agree with him some of the players Ruud picks seem to be going through the motions for end of season and moving on so play the young lads bring some fighting spirit back to the fist team !’

This is where the current crop of crock are shooting themselves in the foot. People will look at them and see they're not good enough, so won't get the wages they're on here so will sit it out.

It's not one thing that is wrong, it's the whole footballing side. From players and their wages, to manager choices, to coaches and that goes right back to who is in charge of that side of things.

It's a shambles. It's obvious the players and manager are quitting. Doing the minimum to still get paid and not accused of breaching contract, but not doing enough to make any difference. Vardy looked drained of enthusiasm in the last game, it's affecting him as well. He's the only one showing any emotion to the situation in his body language. Others just don't give two hoots.

Our recruitment has been so hap hazard and disjointed it’s beyond belief.

in the last 2 years we have utilised European markets to sign some real exciting talent and decent value such as Mads, Abdul, Mavididi and BEK but then have spunked money and wages on absolute dross in the British market including.BDCR, Ayew,, Eduourd, Skipp etc.

Our recent record on domestic transfers is dire, we have wasted millions on the above and yet ignored exciting young EFL talent  like Harrison Burrows, Ronnie Edwards, Kwame Poku, Hayden Hackney, Tom Fellows etc etc all players easily within reach last summer and wouldn’t have cost a ridiculous sum in fees and wages whilst also offering potential, long term strategy and future sell on potential.

We are so poorly run, the last 2 summers have proved that we are very much driven by the manager at the time. Last season whilst the recruitment wasn’t perfect there was at least a coherent plan, a reasonable mix of experience and younger players, clearly targeted to play in Enzo’s system.

And yet this summer just gone I am not sure what was going on, it was so random, Okoli, BEK and Facu seemed to be club signngs and wouldn’t be shocked if these were all scouted and identified targets prior to the summer and then Coopers premier league experienced mob of Skipp, Ayew, BDCR and Eduoard, all of which have had lengthy spells of not being involved.

It has been absolutely criminal whilst also blocking any pathway for our genuinely talented academy prospects to develop and see opportunities to be involved in the first team matchday squad.

We have players earning wages so big we can't move them on.

So, 1. Never offer a wage that is more than an acquiring club would pay.

2. In year #3 of a four year contract you offer an extension (without breaking rule #1).  If thr player declines it then sell them.  End of.

3. Do not sign or resign players over 33... make soace to promote academy players.

That’s the trouble with footballers a lot of them are just football Mercenaries going from club to club drawing the wages and not  giving a Schitt about the club, the only one really that has any ounce of loyalty is Vards and like you said his enthusiasm is being royally Fuched out of him by the schitt he plays alongside and a manager who just needs to do what he did at PSV just walk away, get someone like Allerdyce and old fashioned stalwart who takes no schitt till the end of season to see if we can get on ounce of respect and enthusiasm back ?
