winteriscoming Posted 15 June 2025 Posted 15 June 2025 Is there any possibility of us going for someone from abroad? Even sides like QPR and Bristol City are it seems doing it. I just wish we’d look further afield than just this country.
Chelmofox Posted 15 June 2025 Posted 15 June 2025 Fathers day sunday lunch and too many day time beers and a cheeky whisky. Fek it, lets just keep Ruud and actually give him some tools to do the job properly. All this pi55ing around right now is actually doing my head in. I think the youth actually look up to him and in retrospect he handled Monga well. Ruud was actually calling out the problem players (Winks, Vesty etc) which is what we actually want. I'd rather not have someone come in to tickle their balls. 4

kingfox Posted 15 June 2025 Posted 15 June 2025 You just have to look at teams that will no doubt have play-off aspirations themselves. Look at Norwich for example, why didn’t they go for someone like Wellens, Cleverley, Muslic, Selles? Instead they went for Liam Manning who has proven himself at Championship level by getting Bristol City into the play-offs. Rob Edwards is the current favourite for the Middlesbrough job, even though things went sour at Luton, he did get them promoted which puts him in a higher category than the four I mentioned above. For a club like ourselves, we have to work in the same bracket as Southampton did with appointing Will Still. You either have to find someone who’s earned his stripes at Championship level, or you look abroad for a manager who has history of winning leagues, or who has earned their stripes in France, Germany, Italy, Spain.

Asking RVN to carry on after ghosting him for months despite his repeated requests for talks would take some chutzpah, but I wouldn’t put it past us.

Sorry, but RvN is just a cr@p manager. After watching his abhorrent attempt too manage us so far, he's just never shown me even a glimmer of hope that he has the skill set to be affective even at Championship level. I certainly wouldn’t trust him with a rebuild, and even with a step-down in quality I think we would be treated to much of the same sh1t as last season, with a similar results record. 2

I’m not sure you even need that. Look at Le Bris he finished mid table with Lorient and then went down yet got Sunderland promoted last season.
Popular Post Pliskin Posted 15 June 2025 Popular Post Posted 15 June 2025 We cant continue with Ruud, too much irreversible damage has been caused under his stewardship, if he stays that will just worsen further, regardless of how we back him. 6 1

Look at Le Bris he finished mid table with Lorient and then went down yet got Sunderland promoted last season. But despite getting relegated, he also showed good signs at Ligue 1 level. While as I’ve said before regarding Le Bris, with the way Sunderland operate, you can see why he was a viable candidate. With ourselves, we have to put ourselves in the same bracket as Southampton and Ipswich. As Lambert said to me a few weeks back, put yourself in Southampton’s shoes, would you opt for Will Still or would you opt for Wellens, Cleverley, Muslic? For a club of our size at Championship level, with aspirations of promotion, you have to fish in the same pond as Southampton did with Will Still. Some of the uninspiring names just make themselves more viable candidates, because they simply come with better pedigree.

Struber is favourite for the Bristol City job. The rest we should be looking at. My preference from abroad is Jess Thorup. Experienced manager who is readily available and has worked around Europe and developed young players. 1
HankMarvin Posted 15 June 2025 Posted 15 June 2025 Keeping RVN is like when a woman goes through a painful pregnancy and vows no more kids, as the weeks and months pass the pain is forgotten and before you know it she’s up the duff again 2

I think he'd definitely burst the bubble of them thinking that they're better than they actually are!

But he also chose to play dog shit players that made the same mistakes every well and cost us games. He didn’t actually fix any problems with players and make anyone better. He shuffled the dog shit around.

Nolucklcfc Posted 15 June 2025 Posted 15 June 2025 He doesn’t even have a back room team. What a mess.
