fox_up_north Posted 16 June 2025 Posted 16 June 2025 Ideal scenario is someone comes in, takes us up, survives and then gets poached for a sum. Won't happen though. 1

Which is what happened last time. Didn't work well. In many ways I'd prefer a manager who keeps us decent next season, not necessarily play offs, but thereabouts, builds a rapport with Leicester, gets us up the 2nd season in not too spectacular fashion, so doesn't get poached, and then comfortably keeps us in the EPL 3rd season and having a history with the club. Recently it's been boom or bust. 1

Could we not put him on gardening leave if we wanted to sack him? It’s been explained before that any indication of trying to offload him before July 1st would mean he’d get compensation at PL level nit Championship wage level. shame it hasn’t been pinned to stop the same questions being asked again and again. 3 hours ago, Bluearmyfox28 said: Has Top and Rudkin ever actually appointed a foreign manager without experience in the English leagues? Might be wrong but doens't he play 532 352? which would be strange with the squad we have where are best attacking players are wingers. TO be fair last season looks like it was a mix of 442 or 4 3 3(variations of that) Edited 17 June 2025 by teblin 1

He's been a success throughout his career mainly but something about him just makes me not want him here. Mental that he is on the verge of the sack though, having finished on 90 points last season. They were better than the other three teams that finished top 6.

Done a top job at Boro getting sacked in 22nd, Watford 2 months for what ever reason and now Sheffield united about to pump even though he nearly secured promotion. Grebfromgrebland Posted 17 June 2025 Posted 17 June 2025 The thing is that the clubs hands are tied right now. It's most likely that if they act on a new manager in any way then Ruud can claim that he's pushed out and the club and sue us for a pay off at premier league rates. The club has to sit tight till July then we can bin him off at a lower rate. Ruud contract probably wasn't written in our favour.
HankMarvin Posted 17 June 2025 Posted 17 June 2025 Southgate reported to want the Poland job, so maybe he is on the lookout for a new club 1

Guest Posted 17 June 2025 Posted 17 June 2025 We could definitely appoint a worse manager than Wilder but we would really struggle to appoint a bigger bellend and it's a good few years now since he last did anything particularly impressive, so my feelings would be mixed
