The bloke is so far off it he will be gone before the end of the season, massive backwards step for Bristol City after Manning.

Just had a quick read on his career. Doesn't seem to stay anywhere longer than a year. He either jumps ship or gets sacked.

Has a history in sales before he become a coach, so clearly one of these types that are good at saying the right thing and impressing people that way.

Exactly. Even if RVN were definitely staying, BBM would probably still have accepted the Cardiff job. It doesn’t mean anything.

Brighton are looking at Jelle ten rouwelaar, whos our GK coach/assistant coach, one who RVN brought in

so its certainly signs there could be a change a foot, as JTR is probably one RVN wouldnt want to lose

That's a good point. If he does go to Brighton, I think that's a big indicator of RvN being on his way.

They do it all of the time? Multiple times every season clubs make a statement backing their managers when it's necessary to do so?

If we were sticking with him after relegation there's a very high chance they'd have said so.

Can you cite any recent examples of official statements from clubs to announce that a manager is staying in his post? I think Man Utd might have done it with Solskjaer in 2021, but I'm not sure it's happened since.

Before he joined us I would be over the moon, now I would be devastated.

Exactly. Why on earth would we want to continue with him.

Out.

Ah, the old stigma attached vote of confidence

I think clubs have basically stopped doing them because they're invariably regarded as the death knell for a manager and so have the opposite effect to that intended.

Sheffield United had relegation confirmed, their official website was putting out media with Wilder planning for the next season before their Prem season had even ended.

Norwich in 21/22 exactly the same thing with Dean Smith.

Clear in no uncertain terms that the managers were staying. Both actually had their post-relegation statements made on their websites BY the manager as the spokesman for the club.

We've had radio silence with journalists close to the club confirming even Ruud has no idea what's going on.

He isn't staying.

Oh I don't think he's staying at all. I just don't think that the lack of a public vote of confidence tells us much given that such announcements are rare these days. But I'm nitpicking - I agree with you that RVN is toast.

I think the club are (quite sensibly) keeping all options open. The likelihood is that they give Ruud the old tin tack, once they have his replacement lined up, and the financials are cheap enough to implement.

If that plan should go tits up, they can stick with Ruud.

We may as well start skipping to the ‘if that plan goes tits up’ stage of our plans from the get go.

It doesn't have to be an official statement.

Even if they did something like an advert for the pre-season friendlies with Ruud's name being mentioned.

Yup, or they could be tactically leaking stuff to Percy and Dorsett if they didn’t want to do a statement. Nothing, silence.

But they are burning time and that’s time your rivals are so far down the line with planning.

What intrigues me is that if we fairly assume that FFP is the issue, there is very little noise about us selling a player to comply

Announcement next week.

That's not the end of June (and therefore, in this financial year) - so, IF (big if!) you're right, agreement must have been reached with RvN - one way or the other. In other words, he's either being paid off (and POSSIBLY they're going to announce a new Manager), or he's being kept!

You say this like we do anything the conventional way?

We could do absolutely anything from here.  you know as much as me and I know roughly the same as Rudkin
