One failed experiment does not make him s bad manager. Absolutely not, but I guess the point I’m making is that under 21s international football is very different to the task we have at hand and the very limited experience he had in the men’s game really didn’t go very well at all. Id probably prefer him to Dyche generally, but im not sure we can afford to take such a gamble at the minute.

At the time everyone wanted to see a line up that included Saka, Palmer, Bellingham, Rice and Foden in the same team - Carsley obliged and experimented and when it didn’t work had it held against him Reason 10456 of why the England job is a poisoned chalice.

Exactly. Everyone will be wishing Southgates back in charge after the next World Cup

I cannot see Carsley even considering City; joining a club in turmoil with no league experience would not be a good career move. He has a record of doing well with talented players who are somewhat lacking at City. Agree with most of this but given we've got a good crop of decent level youth prospects to work with surely that would help and we've got Seagrave too. I'm take him over Dyche, Carrick and a few others.
HankMarvin Posted 29 June 2025 Posted 29 June 2025 Peter Taylor done well with England under 21 squad 25 matches only 2 defeats
RonnieTodger Posted 29 June 2025 Posted 29 June 2025 Whoever it is, I just hope they bin off Vestergaard. He’s fallen out with 3 of our last 4 managers. Complete waste of space.

May be interested if it were a young squad project but I accept we are a basket case and it needs a man extremely assured or another lunatic 1

I think Bilal could be seen as the replacement for KDH, whether we can keep hold of him is another thing. 2

I agree and think Bilal has potentially a much higher ceiling than KDH. It would be great to keep him but get rid of half a dozen others! 4

True but no one asked for him to play Palmer deeper than Bellingham
Popular Post Product of 84 Posted 29 June 2025 Popular Post Posted 29 June 2025 Hopefully, the appointment will be made public tomorrow. Looking back now the dust has settled I think Ruud was told his replacement once we were relegated. I also think his replacement was dictating selection over the last few games and talking to our players. I think that's why the youngsters have signed up. I hope it's not Dyche- I've convinced myself it's not. I think it's either Rohl or Carsley. My betting would be Rohl as the press believe he is leaving and wasn't at Wednesday for their pre-season work last week. Whoever it is- all I want is to see us play a style this season that, if we are fortunate enough to be promoted, we can use in the Premier League. I believe Vardy's 'shit show' phrase is about the transition from Maresca' s over playing to Cooper's pragmatism to Ruud's rigidity and inflexibility. Players can't keep adapting. They need a pattern/s of play instilled in pre-season to take into the league games. 1 6

Tempting to think that but I think it's inevitable that the news would have leaked somehow, from somewhere, if that was the case. To have decided upon - and appointed - a replacement so early in the process would require a degree of forward planning and organisation entirely beyond any of the decision makers at our club. Surely you know that!!

Claudio Fannieri Posted 29 June 2025 Posted 29 June 2025 No clear favourite on the oddschecker site, neither Dyche or Rohl are clear odds on favourite at the moment. Either very little being leaked or not much interest being shown.
winteriscoming Posted 29 June 2025 Posted 29 June 2025 (edited) Still don’t think it’ll be Rohl. I can see it being Hassenhuttl. Edited 29 June 2025 by winteriscoming 1
