Probably once the seasons done and dusted and we take our place in the Championship....Ruud is dismissed and a new chapter begins surely Top needs to offer a statement and apologise for the many mistakes made in the 2024/25 season....its him steering this ship and he is culpable for the good times and just as equally the bad...fans need some reassurances that things will change...surely? I mean the silence right now from the board is deafening...that can't just carry on treating the fans like idiots

Statement from the Chairman

Dear Leicester City Fans,

Well… that didn’t exactly go to plan, did it? After all the blood, sweat, and baffling defensive errors, here we are—relegated. Again.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Surely, this is the fault of the board, poor recruitment, or a lack of investment?” But let’s be honest—who was it that kept demanding we “go for it”? Who wanted big signings, expensive contracts, and Premier League glory? That’s right—you lot. And now, thanks to your relentless ambition, Profit & Sustainability Rules (PSR) have tied my hands tighter than our midfield under pressure.

As for the players, lads, it would’ve been nice if you’d shown the same commitment on the pitch as you do in your post-match apologies. If running back to defend was as common as Instagram apologies, maybe we wouldn’t be in this mess.

To the fans who chanted for European nights—congratulations! You’ll get them again soon… away at some lovely European pre-season friendlies. But until then, we’re off to the Championship, where we’ll try to find some defenders who can actually defend and attackers who shoot at the right goal.

In the meantime, keep believing, keep supporting, and if you could stop demanding ambition, that’d be great—because thanks to PSR, my pockets are now as empty as our points tally in 2025.

Up the Foxes (wherever they may be playing).

Yours,

The Chairman

We won't get an apology but we can be sure than a thorough  internal review will take place to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Can we just do an AFC Wimbledon and form a new club?

Most of our fans couldn’t form a sentence

There will be a statement that asks us to stick together, outlines the long term sustainability of the club is secure (to exist but in reality nothing else) and points firmly at FFP and says "Always was going to be a challenging season",  "Have to stay within the rules blah blah blah", completely overlooking that we were allowed to spend some money and chose, generally, the wrong players and wrong managers. And ignore that FFP is not some external factor completely out of our control, we overspent for years with crazy contracts which is why we are in this situation and Fulham, Brentford, Palace, Wolves and others aren't. The same people making the same bad decisions and nothing changes.

Apologise?

YOU need to apologise for not being a good supporter.

You should feel very privileged to support a club like Leicester City FC. Don't you know what we've achieved in the last ten years? We were in League One once, don't you know?

Now make sure you renew your season ticket nice and early and keep clapping, legacy fan.

You're living in a dream world if you think we're getting an apology from the likes of Top. I'd just like them to show some self awareness and recognition of the situation they've put us in

Even if that did happen, Manchester City have sorted themselves out with their signing young players they would easily walk the championship and get back to the premier league at the first attempt.

Imagine Man City go down with us and Southampton because we couldn't beat Ipswich to 18 points lol

I find this an entirely plausible scenario.

They'll blame us for wanting Cooper out.

The players got Cooper sacked and it's been reported Top wasn't happy with them for the way he was treated so he can't even hide behind that excuse.

It’s too late, isn’t it? It might’ve helped 18 months ago or even last summer. But having let the same people make the same mistakes and the club sleep walk to relegation for the second time in three years, an apology would now be seen for what it would be: cynical, insincere & leading to no meaningful change.

We’re now in Rudkin goes or Top goes or both go territory. No other way forward that doesn’t see even more toxicity

He will apologise.

Then he will find replacements for all the board members.

They will formulate a plan which either involves RVN or not.

He will take a step back and allow people with footballing knowledge to continue with putting together a cohesive plan/strategy that all this involves.
