I personally think he goes to Charlotte FC next.

They're managed by Dean Smith, Fuchs is his assistant and their number 9 shirt is currently unoccupied...

Hope so... maybe a future pre season friendly in that.

MLS, I think. I'm not sure a Premier League club would pay his wages at 39, no Championship club could afford him and the same can be said for most of Europe.

Go to MLS for a year or two and have a stake in the ownership of either his new club or a franchise for a new one a la Beckham and become an extremely wealthy man.

I thought MLS. Similar culture, he seems to like American sports, get Rebekah out of the country and get a lucrative 2 year contract.

Had to google it but the team he bought during Covid has since folded. Would love him to have a proper go at setting up his own club.

seeing Vardy and Messi in the same team would be fun

Some footballers also seem to like the fact that they have a little more privacy there because the press and public are less interested in players' private lives, never mind those of their families, because the sport isn't as high profile over the pond.

I  think he’s ****ing off on holiday before the Bournemouth game

Bournemouth is a nice place for a holiday tbf.

It's within his budget, too.

I can't profess to be an insider but was in the local cafe in Great Glen this morning and the owner seemed pretty bullish that he was off to the States according to JV's eldest daughter.

I'd be pleased for him.

Good standard of living, great money and no language barrier. It's also a smart time to get involved with football in the States due to the upcoming World Cup and the likely long-term boost. The 1994 World Cup pretty much kicked off the MLS in the first place.

A dream for me would be houston dynamo, but it won't be.

Should have retired with us. Very sad day and those responsible for wrecking that should hold their heads in shame.

LA clubs wouldn't surprise me as the city would be a major draw for his wife, but I do think Charlotte will be the one. He knows the owners, I understand. Pretty sure that Dean Smith wanted him if he didn't renew here as well.

How funny would it be if he emerged from the tunnel at Bournemouth anyway

Not sure I can go through that again.

We really have been truly lucky to have him. Pace. Aggression, quality, mentality, great celebrations and just seems to be one of us. An ordinary bloke who made it big. Very rare and I am genuinely sad he has gone.

if New York Red Bulls aren't trying to sign him they're missing the opportunity of a lifetime

I dread to think what his shithouse celebrations would be at Red Bulls and City away if he signed for someone else...
