Popular Post copunk Posted 3 August 2025 Popular Post Posted 3 August 2025 Overall will go down as a brilliant player for us His form dipped massively after coming back from injury but he always put a shift in even when he wasnt exactly playing well Decent fee aswell All the best Wilf 6
Scotch Posted 3 August 2025 Posted 3 August 2025 I was under no illusion that he was going this window and when he didn't play today, I figured it was close. JJ and mads will be going this week too I reckon. 2
AKCJ Posted 3 August 2025 Posted 3 August 2025 Could have been at Real Madrid but is now at Besiktas at 28. That line fits for a lot of that 2019/20 squad. 1
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 3 August 2025 Posted 3 August 2025 Slightly less than his release clause, wonder if we are trying to raise the funds for Kone?
kingfox Posted 3 August 2025 Posted 3 August 2025 Magnificent player when at his best, but his Leicester career has ran it’s course and it’s the right time to move on. Will be interesting to see if we replace him with a like for like(With hopefully better passing ability) or someone like Brownhill who can play box-to-box.

Besiktas offer European football, a yearly title fight against city rivals, & (I think at least) offer the salary that he would want. They have been known to offer very high salaries.
nnfox Posted 3 August 2025 Posted 3 August 2025 Very good ball winner a few years ago but for an elite level midfielder, his passing has always been woeful. Still a little sad to see him go, nothing but love for the guy. I wish him well! 3
Beechey Posted 3 August 2025 Posted 3 August 2025 (edited) What a player he's been for us for the last 8.5 years. Probably time for a move away but I'm absolutely certain that without him, we wouldn't have been anywhere near as successful as we were after he joined. Not sure any player since has put up tackling and interception numbers as consistently as he did. Edited 3 August 2025 by Beechey 1

Hope so, he needs to move on. He's just never struck me as a player that interested in leaving England for the sake of it. I'm so surprised he signed a new deal last summer. 1

Can fully move on from that era and build a fresh one. Have loved wilf from his great ball winning abilities to his great ball giving away abilities 3 seconds later. Very effective at what he did in early days, thanks for the memories. Thomas and Ricardo played Edited 3 August 2025 by Lesterlad 1
Nods Posted 3 August 2025 Posted 3 August 2025 Not our worst player by any means but I'm happy with that. Decent chunk of cash for an injury prone player who is just a disaster with the ball at his feet. Did well under Enzo as a kamikaze goal threat for a while, but ultimately we have better options moving forwards. I don't know if football has changed since he was effective as a DM or if the footballing world just realised he folds when pressed. Maybe it's just his legs. Can't believe he's only 28. Feels like his legs have been going for a few years.
MPH Posted 3 August 2025 Posted 3 August 2025 I see his agent is playing a blinder on Twitter with some cleverly released videos of some goals he’s scored. I’d hate to be around when the Besiktas fans realize that this is not normal for him..

CloudFox Posted 3 August 2025 Posted 3 August 2025 This one's made me feel a bit sad, if I'm honest. A great servant, by all accounts a very down-to-earth guy, and a player who on his day was the best in his position. I'm sure he'd be an asset in the Championship, but it probably is time to say goodbye. 2
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 3 August 2025 Posted 3 August 2025 I think he’s waiting for Saudi but will settle with Turkey.

Thanks Wilf but you can go, but how many times have we heard he’s going. Believe it when I see it
Lcfcwigstonblue Posted 4 August 2025 Posted 4 August 2025 Disappointed to see several posts on X, saying ‘get gone’. Overall has been an absolute steal. players eventually drop off, we had the best of him. A fantastic servant to the club. 4
lanefox Posted 4 August 2025 Posted 4 August 2025 At the peak of his powers his defensive stats were the best in the league at his position, shame injuries caught up to him
teblin Posted 4 August 2025 Posted 4 August 2025 (edited) Loved wilf over the years, been involved in some big moments. But I think its tie for him to move on. Edited 4 August 2025 by teblin 1
stu Posted 4 August 2025 Posted 4 August 2025 Turkish journalist claims terms have been agreed on a 3+1 year contract and he’s been invited for a medical. 2
