Magnificent player when at his best, but his Leicester career has ran it’s course and it’s the right time to move on. 
 

Will be interesting to see if we replace him with a like for like(With hopefully better passing ability) or someone like Brownhill who can play box-to-box.

I think he will. Besiktas offer European football, a yearly title fight against city rivals, & (I think at least) offer the salary that he would want. They have been known to offer very high salaries.

Very good ball winner a few years ago but for an elite level midfielder, his passing has always been woeful.

 

Still a little sad to see him go, nothing but love for the guy.   I wish him well!

What a player he's been for us for the last 8.5 years. Probably time for a move away but I'm absolutely certain that without him, we wouldn't have been anywhere near as successful as we were after he joined. Not sure any player since has put up tackling and interception numbers as consistently as he did.

Hope so, he needs to move on. He's just never struck me as a player that interested in leaving England for the sake of it. I'm so surprised he signed a new deal last summer.

Not our worst player by any means but I'm happy with that. Decent chunk of cash for an injury prone player who is just a disaster with the ball at his feet. 

 

Did well under Enzo as a kamikaze goal threat for a while, but ultimately we have better options moving forwards.

 

I don't know if football has changed since he was effective as a DM or if the footballing world just realised he folds when pressed.

 

Maybe it's just his legs. Can't believe he's only 28. Feels like his legs have been going for a few years.

sometimes you just need to refresh  your squad and sometimes a player just needs to move on and get a fresh start.

This one's made me feel a bit sad, if I'm honest. A great servant, by all accounts a very down-to-earth guy, and a player who on his day was the best in his position.

 

I'm sure he'd be an asset in the Championship, but it probably is time to say goodbye.

Far cry from the near Villa move under S Gerrard for 50 million 5-6 years ago.

Long covid has had more of a lasting effect on him rather then the injuries.
