It's difficult to compare Schmeichel in his last years with Mads in his one PL season due to their respective contexts.

I think Hermansen's ceiling is higher, without doubt, and he must have outperformed Schmeichel in a number of metrics during the half season prior to his injury.

But I'm not trying to make a parallel comparison here, all I'm saying is that Hermansen is a PL-ready goalkeeper and I don't believe Stolarczyk will ever be.

So if we sell Hermansen, then goalkeeper's another piece we have to find and upgrade to get back and stay in the PL.

Selling off our few wanted and prized assets will only make it harder for us to return to the PL.

Maybe it's a sacrifice that needs to be made, only the club will really know, but I'd rather take a PSR hit in the short term than risk our medium-to-long term ambitions.

I personally think Stolarcryk proved himself at Premier League level last season given the mess in front of him, he did well given how he was chucked in. He out performed Hermansen (yes I realise Hermansen was carrying the injury when he came back). Most of our positive results were with Stolarcryk.

He might not be as good with the ball as Hermansen but is better than him in commanding his area. Both are good shot stoppers.

It’s so far down the list of positions we need to address. I’d be annoyed if we spent on a new keeper if Hermansen goes as it would be a waste of funds that could address the striker and central midfield positions as a bare minimum.

I get the feeling he isn’t going anywhere- and that actually gives us a bit of a good problem because no way they don’t start him as first choice - he is a golden egg and the club know he would have to play to keep his value - interesting nobody has paid the money - either we are asking way to much or maybe others don’t rate him quite as highly as we do - I thought he would have been well gone by now injury or not

I can see us closing out 2 or 3 deals over the next 48/72 hours, my prediction would be Mepham, Brownhill and Kone, whilst I also think over the next 3/4 days we see the departure of Mads and Bilal.

People need to stop trying to convince themselves that Stolarcryk is as good a keeper as Hermansen, he's not.

Is it the right thing to sell Hermansen and give Stolarcryk a chance 100%.

I agree Jakub is not as good as mads, but given our situation, yes it is the correct decision to give him a chance. We can’t can’t waste money, time and PSR thresholds on keeping mads. He is a loss, we will be a worse team without him but not much worse.

Currently he isn’t, but Stolarczyk has a lot of potential, and is more than able to play at this level. Mads is amazing and will one day be one of the best in the world in my opinion, but Stolarczyk is an extremely highly rated GK, and has proven that he’s good enough at PL level. He’s got the potential to be as good as Mads in my opinion.

How much will Rudders agree to pay WHam to take him?

Hopefully for once, we are playing hardball over the low offer they have made.  Afterall we often sell players at ridiculously low offers.  Let's pray this time Rudkin and co see sense.  (I doubt it though).

But isn’t this exactly why we have so many players? We have a price, we don’t budge, they don’t move.  :dunno:

you must be on the wind up!

we have notoriously played hardball and it’s one of the main reasons we have been stuck with such dross- our asking price is often too high for players. This would be a good time for us NOT to play hardball- to help fund a new striker whilst we have an adequate GK replacement already..

We don't do work on Saturdays or Sundays so you're timescale is correct , those days don't exist to Lord Rudkin and he'll have to have another holiday now the Coady deal is done

Got a ridiculous fee for Kudus and a stupendous amount for Declan Rice previously but faffing over paying the right amount for a key position they’ve known they needed to sort for a while.
