Couldnt get a ticket, so me and a few mates sat in my garden had a BBQ and set the telly up outside. We watched it on Iplayer as the cables were long enough :D but obviously a few in the street were watching it on BBC - we heard the cheer for the goal and the VAR decision before they happened! the VAR one was so confusing as it looked find from the first angle!

Cracking day though jsut a massive shame it happened during Covid!

I was lucky enough to be there at Wembley. One of the greatest days but I'd love us to get there for a full capacity Wembley.

To win a trophy, a major trophy, shouldn't be sniffed at. It's so difficult. Cup competitions should be priorities season after season.

I was there. Right behind the goal. Unbelievable noise, atmosphere, scenes. Funnily enough, I seen Tielemans last night at the co-op car park in Barrow.

Couldn't get a ticket so watched with my parents at theirs.

Great celebrations with my dad. He never thought he'd see us win the FA Cup, let alone the league! Was nice to have that moment with him.

Things really were looking up at that time, we had sadly thrown away champions league football but we had played well the vast majority of that season (again) and it just felt like we needed only a couple of pieces of the puzzle to really click and put a genuine challenge for top 4 again, little did we know Brendan was about to assemble one of the worst back to back transfer seasons I've ever seen, bringing in Daka and Soumare (who to be fair were highly rated) and Lookman (who was worth every penny of the £15-20m we should have spent on him), alongside Bertrand and Vestergaard on stupid wages, followed by Wout Faes, Harry Souttar, Victor Kristiansen and Tete the following season, completely blowing the profits we made from Chilwell/Fofana, and to top it off letting Kasper go and not replacing him.

We snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in those two windows through a mixture of Covid, giving Brendan way too much power, and the stupid contracts that the club offered them, lumbering us with them for years.

Am I right in remembering that the league season was not yet over when we played the cup final?

Yep, we had Chelsea a few days later in the league then threw it away vs Spurs at home.

I remember Chelsea league game being straight after because they were up in arms about Amartey throwing the Chelsea pennant in the dressing room and dancing around it. Then Pereira and Rudiger having a bit of handbags late in the game.

The official attendance was 20,000. Looked far more on the TV.

I wasn't able to go being in the vulnerable category. Will always be a regret but at least I'm still alive.

Went to the UCL decider the week after. What a miserable day that was other than the trophy parade. Closest that I've ever been to the FA Cup.

was the league game where Perez missed a relatively late chance as well? Where he should score and if he does we would've made CL football irrelevant of the spurs result. I mean the spurs game was just car crash TV as well and should never really be spoken about

Could have gone but I was completely put off by the draconian covid bullshit (the club coach fiasco was still one of the worst things they've ever done).

It was a nightmare trying to book a pub to get a big group of us together, everywhere you'd usually think of was booked up entirely. We stumbled upon the Owl & Pussycat, they had plenty of tables available when booking but they got nervous on the day, had to convince them that the takings would be worth it, eventually they relented and let more turn up. We even went for something to eat and to watch the West Brom game to scout it out beforehand.

When the Tielemans goal flew in it was pandemonium, a patio heater got smashed to bits in the melee lol

I think most of us grew up with the stories of the 4 final defeats, especially the ones in the 1960s. I think for my Mum it probably meant a little more than when we won the league.

Love this thread. I was at home watching with my wife. Incredible nerves. Winning the league was fantastic but like a lot of Leicester fans the FA Cup was the monkey on our back. I remember the finals in 63 and 69 and every year getting knocked out. That goal was the most euphoric moment. Then the nerves got even worse. "Don't lose it now lads" Wife  was genuinely worried about my heart rate at this stage. The sinking feeling as Chelsea appear to score. Look again offside! The final whistle tears, joy and relief. My daughter calls (she was 6 months pregnant) "Dad Dad we've won" Kasper collects the cup and the lid flies off. How I love Maroon. The goal was a thing of beauty to rank with the best cup final goals. Did anyone who did go see yourself on the tv later? Great scenes young and old.

I'd snapped my Achilles two weeks earlier and luckily got a ticket for the match. Had to train it down to Wembley in a massive boot. What a day, nearly snapped it  again when the goal went in.

Despite the premier league win, probably the single best day I've had supporting us. Phoned my Dad straight after who was at the 1969 final. Priceless. No one can ever take it away from us.

Went to the game. Was brilliant but it was all a bit surreal too, felt so weird that our first game in 14 months was a cup final.

Was obviously a total travesty that the ground wasn't full and a shame how many had to miss it when they didn't need to.

More emotional than the League on so many levels for me.

Having to do a Covid test in some rough estate community centre in Birmingham. Ended up pre-match drinking four cans on Wembley High Street just sucking it all up.

Remember after the game how many saying it wasn't a great football match but unbelievable enjoying it was having a non-big six club win it and the fans in jubliation.

I was lucky enough to be there.

Had alot to drink pre game to settle the nerves.

Most likely the first and last time I will cry when a goal is scored, let alone the final result and trophy lift.
