I’m not a religious man but I’ve been lying prone on the altar of my local church for six hours now…

I think you've misunderstood.

You're supposed to be praying.

So, it's likely to be Martin with Williamson as the assistant, Henrik Pedersen as coach with Andy King also.

Then he could also bring in Matt Gill (coach - unlikely), Dean Thornton (GK coach), Rhys Owen (sports scientist) & Ben Parker (analyst).

With Barry-murphy likely going and Ruud's GK coach, does this fill all the gaps?

Yet he's happily played in Rodgers teams for many season, and happily joined him at Celtic where Rodgers continues to play the same style.

I think Luke Williams is more likely - he was Martin's Assistant at Swansea (and went on to manage Swansea last season, before getting the boot).

I agree about Dean Thornton and Ben Parker coming, they are remain at Southampton, but Still is likely to bring in his own people in those roles. Rhys Owen is also a possible, but Matt Gill is unlikely, if Pedersen and/or Williams come.

No that would be far too good an appointment. Martin and Williamson also have a connection.

Williamson and Martin will definitely be aligned on philosophy. Williamsons Gateshead side played incredible football for their level, and his MK Dons side did well too, seemed a baffling move when he left them for Carlisle, one I imagine was to do with being closer to family, and just never worked out.

He's definitely not there to compliment Martin, he's there to reinforce his ideas. But he's a good coach, a good hire.

It's Williamson I'm afraid

I a willing to give him a chance after watching his interview with Lineker. I think we will see the very best of Winks again under him, which could be hugely important in getting out of the Championship...

Oh well - resigned to this now.

I still think he gets us into the play offs, but there is going to be some depressing moments along the way.

He'll be replaced, you'd think.

Winks and Vesty back in the first team then. I wonder what Martin's views are on the dog coming to training?  Especially as Lucy Pinder brings a couple of puppies to the training ground.

He was good enough when he stepped in for Mads last season.

All I can say is, if it is Martin, at least we have someone with a clear philosophy and way of playing, even if we don't like it!

Having a philosophy is so last year. I want a manager that's not wedded to a rigid style and fluid enough to change depending on the opposition and state of play, even during the game. Stick his philosophy.

Exactly where I'm at. Plus his style requires quite dynamic players who are comfortable on the ball, something any future manager would certainly benefit from.

I was confident we needed to loan out Stolarczyk to a MK Dons/Swansea possession monkey to build him up to our long term strategy... Yet, the idiots in charge didn't get rid of Wardverson.

He's not looked confident enough on the ball for someone like Russell not to shit a brick. So expect a new number 1 at the least, maybe 2 goalkeepers.
