Yeah fair enough, I worded it wrongly! He wasn't forced out however...we got offered £40m which we sorely needed and he gets to stay in the PL at a high level.

I like Barnes. I actually text my Newcastle mate when the board went up to say Barnes wins it here 😂 still a strange player as he was a bit anonymous at times and I'm told he's like that still now. Same when he was with us, thought he'd grow out of it but never did. 

 

 Am pleased for the bloke though, I don't hold any ill feeling to him at all, although I do to more of other players in the relegation squad. 

 

Do think he's at his prime now and Newcastle is the biggest move he'd ever get, but good luck to him.

Wonder if Barnes will be tempted to play for Scotland, i cant see him getting an England call out as too many ahead of him. 

 

I think i would go for it, to have the chance to play at a world cup.

Would he be well received there after not being part of them qualifying? Obviously he would be an asset, but it would also mean someone else will be missing out.

I think he would, they need bodies and he is a classy player

0.3 XG for both after 80 minutes and I'm meant to think this Arsenal side are exciting. 8 years into a project where they've won 1 trophy and spent well over a billion
