Need to pick this lad vs Blackburn and strengthen the compensation we will be awarded for his alleged move to Liverpool.

Did we ever get paid for Nyoni?

First-team debut for Kevon Gray today? Really hope the guys upstairs understand the importance of keeping these lads and recruiting a manager who will actually develop them and build a team around them

My worry is we'll have such minimal interest in our experienced (expensive) squad players that we'll be forced to cash in on any decent youngsters we have. Could be a painful summer ahead

I agree with you, but they’ve got to be good enough, and also ready.

Is it perceived that Cartwright would be good enough to play in league one?

Braybrooke, Cartwright, Page midfield would certainly get the masses excited.

Yeah? You think after years of European quality midfielders this will excite the masses? I mean, it seems a lot of the fans are happy and satisfied with another relegation judging by the end of the Hull game, so maybe you are right as it wouldn't take a lot to excite them.

Give them one or two home games before fans will rip into them on here.

Seen comments saying SPL is equivalent to League 1, so should be close.

Yeah usually by people who never watch an SPL game.

Academy products tend to excite people, right now fans don’t want European quality, they want something to actually believe in and get behind, no just lads skimping off the club.

If they are good yeah, see Luke Thomas or Hamza Choudhury lol

It would be nice to have a core of academy players but we are going to need some experience (not old and crocked experience) around them.

If they actually give it a go and aren’t entirely crap the majority will get on board, always get a few who just go down to have a whinge at everyone except the board. Honestly the ‘world class’ midfield we had included two players who couldn’t have given a shit less and one who aged out of top flight footy at 25, they aren’t the ones I miss from that side

I think having some young players who actually want to play for the club will get a large proportion of the fanbase more engaged. Who are these European quality midfielders we've had recently by the way? Skipp, Soumare, Winks, Choudhury? Even Tielemans, Maddison and Ndidi were ****ing turd by the end.

Our current team aren't good enough so I don't get why the youngsters have to be better than players with more experience and on higher wages with no room left to develop.

Sadly with our fan base we can never actually play the young players as they are unfairly expected to be better than the senior players and get half the grace as the senior players for bad performances.

Look at Faes, when he was last starting for us we were conceding 3 before half time, but the second he leaves the narrative is that we shouldn't have let him go. Nelson on the other hand was nowhere near as bad yet has been written off by many.
