It's just rearranging deck chairs really. 90% of politics is.

People vote for what they think or have been told they want, because the vast majority have no idea or are too thick to understand what they're voting for (Brexit). Or even worse have been lied to (Boris/Farage) or stirred up to outrage as stuff that has been exaggerated or lied about (Reform).

This is why politics bores me to death. Unless it's a vote on a huge issue it's all the same. Also why I vote Green instead of the usual parties.

I think Burnham could actually be fairly popular as he seems to have got some charisma about him and I want him to rule like that too, and not turn into a robot.

Get the Hillsborough law through, get compo to the infected blood scandal victims immediately and there’s two easy wins.

Sadly though the bureaucracy of this country will always get in the way.

I think the media and how we've all been engaging with politics is a big part of the problem.

Everything is too reactive and often discussed as black and white when its not really that simple. It's not sustainable to keep going through PMs like this and it is no good for the country.

I also think there's just general non-understanding of basic economic principles and there are a lot of voters who cannot get their head round that their own economic and social, beliefs are at odds with each other and will blame everything else than admit that.

I see it all the time - people ln the right moaning about how there's so many of certain types of business popping up on the high streets, but then to stop that you actually have to vote for left-wing parties whose whole m.o. is greater government intervention in the economy, as right-wing economics is at its core about the government not getting involved in people's economic business. Of course when a left leaning government does regulate like that they scream "socialism is evil and takes away our freedom,s"

Then on the converse, you have people on the left talking about regulating parts of the economy but then moaning constantly about beaurocracy - when beaurocracy *is* government regulation and how governments regulate markets and if you want less beaurocracy you have to vote for right-wing economics who want to deregulate the ecomony.

Every time a new heat record is set, we should vote for a new PM, until we get more moderate weather.

Just making sure that ones that don't think there's a problem at all from having any kind of political power would be a start.

Starmer hasn't been that bad. 100x better than the last few anyway. I do wonder what the public mood would really be like without right wing bots dominating almost every social media space.

Turned a bit of a corner recently, but his lack of personality has not helped. Ultimately, a lack of personality shouldn't matter, but it really, really does.

It has helped Trump, in particular, hasn't it - with his threats and forcefulness..

It's his failure to organise his parliamentary party which has really screwed him.

Who are you comparing him to Tommy when your stating he's a disaster?

BoJo?

Truss?

May?

Right.

People viewing this in a vacuum rather than relative to situations and other people is rather frustrating - it's incredibly lazy.

I feel very sorry for him; not a fan of Starmer, but the whole thing playing out on social media, particularly by endless journos tweeting updates is particularly unedifying.
