I feel very sorry for him; not a fan of Starmer, but the whole thing playing out on social media, particularly by endless journos tweeting updates is particularly unedifying.

That is, apparently, the way things are now.

Brave new world, huh?

What a waste of a massive landslide.  Lets hope they can turn things around.  I mean ultimately, I would prefer to have a new wave of Conservative Government sorting out the real issues, but they are still rebuilding, and an effective Labour government is needed to stop the rise of the Reform.

Who are you comparing him to Tommy when your stating he's a disaster?

BoJo?

Truss?

May?

Not comparing him to anyone - if he had delivered he wouldn't be standing there today resigning. He had a massive majority and he's screwed it. Hope he enjoys the time off.

Speak for yourself - he's been a disaster

Clearly a disaster. Or GBNews and the Daily Mail said so it must be true.

Not his biggest fan at all, I think he's a terrible communicator and there are areas he could have done better, but he's not been a disaster.

Never had a plan with Sunak springing the election on him. Done his world tour, shook a few hands, got his photos and managed to anger and alienate many good, decent people in this nation thanks in large part to his useless chancellor. Goodbye.

Do we think he’d be resigning now if his name didn’t rhyme with Two Tier? I’m not so sure.

Not sure it’s possible to be a good or successful PM in this age, it’s like managing Man Utd but worse - can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t be on a complete hiding to nothing.

The economy has done him.

If he had sacked Reeves a year ago I don't think he would be in this position now.

I don't think you need to pick up the Daily Fail or watch GB News to work out how his tenure has gone

But this is part of the problem - he hasn't got the minerals to make big decisions like that, a clear and obvious one at that. Any new PM needs to bin her off pronto.

I thought it was piss poor that she wasn't out and about offering him support. Any other leader would have got rid but he has stood by her, probably because he felt he wasn't in a strong enough position to do so.

His 'supporters' have let him down, only Peter Kyle was doing his bit.

As I said, not a big fan of his. He's a terrible communicator and there are areas he could have done better, but he hasn't been a disaster. Needed to be quicker and braver making big decisions, needed to stop trying to appease Reform voters on certain issues and I don't think he has a clear political vision, but he has achieved a lot of what he set out to do when he came into government, so he is not a disaster.

To be a successful PM now you need to have popular celebrity type following as well as being a good decisive politician orator.

I'd suggest that of all those clamouring for Burnham a large proportion will know absolutely nothing about him and what he stands for.

Opinions isn't it. He had a massive majority and has been on the ropes from the start, I've got a horrible feeling he's managed to hand the keys to reform at the next election which doesn't bear thinking about.
