I love Bilal, it's clear how good the lad is, foreign country first year in English football with a team fighting relegation, some down playing his ability, his output can be excused! There is a reason why half the premier league are interested regardless of what some of the vapid takes on his ability on here are.

 

But the same people who can't fathom him going (he will!) are also the same ones that get infuriated with the club letting players go for free, not getting their envisaged player values when selling - the club has mismanaged us to the extent that PSR completely fcked out ability to compete and our negotiation stance is shoddy to say the least. There is zero chance we hold onto such a player because of the same reasons. The same with Winks, if there is interest, it's his final year the club NEED to sell.

 

We may find it harder to bounce straight back, we need to re-set and the club need to start making better decisions . And if they don't recruit better then they''ll be forced to change that too

Depends if we spend any of the money and who we bring in if so. I know we all like to shit on the higher-ups but even they must know Hamza, Skipp and Soumare + youth isn't up to snuff.

They’ll spend money but Glovers time here has been largely disappointing. Bilal for example was only on the radar because of Leuven’s DOF. 
 

It’s pot luck because of the higher ups. Going to be tough.

Definitely agree, I just think it's worth remembering that we can also bring players in. The natural assumption is to look at who's leaving and forget we're stuck not with the leftovers

It was always likely that he would go, and I'd rather see him progress and join a top-half team rather than a Leeds/Sunderland, and end up relegated again. Plus, he'll be getting champions leage football in a world cup year. 

 

With his attitude on the pitch, I think he'd thrive at Newcastle.

It's a tough one, he's definitely a bit of class who could have offered more than what he has done so far, not through a lack of trying. We got to see some of that yesterday and this could be a big season for him here. At the same time, he brings in much needed funds, and then also moves out of the way of some young exciting players coming through who should be given the opportunity to prove their worth, for a player like Alves you have to feel it's this season or never for us. 

 

Strange move for them though as I would think Miley can operate in the roles they would be signing Bilal for? And surely it's time for him to kick on for them at 19.
