One year in the Championship where you get 20 goals and 10 assists and you're gonna get a contract off someone for £60k a week. The Premier League is simply where the money is and where the eyes are looking. Bilal, like any ambitious footballer, will fancy his chances of being a regular for an elite level club. He's not going to catch their attention in the Championship. Exactly. Ideally he'd prefer a club not fighting relegation but either way, he comes out ahead having played a season in the PL instead of the Championship. As long as he looks decent doing it.
Popular Post Jacnah Posted 6 August 2025 Popular Post Posted 6 August 2025 I like Bilal - i think hes a talented player (with caveats), and i dont want to see him leave as he's on of those players who can do something that gets you off your seat and I always feel he puts a shift in. All that said, I dont think he's as good as this thread generally implies and i cant see any top half team wanting him other than potentially as a squad player. His finishing, final ball and decsion making is not (yet) top class and I dont think losing him would be a terrible loss if the money is right. I hope he doesnt go - hes a good player to watch 6
Jazzy_Jeff Posted 6 August 2025 Posted 6 August 2025 I’d love for him to stay but can understand letting him go if we make a decent profit off him. I would however be disappointed if we only made a small profit following sale to a newly promoted side. If that’s all that’s available to him we need to convince him to commit - even offering a new contract with pay increase now we’ve lowered our wage bill considerably. 1

We’ve lowered our wage bill because we need to lower it, and it needs to be further lowered. I’d be very shocked if we decided to not sell him for a little bit more than what we got him for. 1
Verumex Posted 6 August 2025 Posted 6 August 2025 I'm still getting major flashbacks to every transfer window with Tielemans' agent throwing his name at every club, "leaking" connections to every journalist that would listen, and all the while, Youri clearly wasn't fussed about a move and liked living in the Midlands. This is just what some agents are like. They try to make fetch happen. It doesn't mean that fetch is going to happen. 1

I still believe 15, 16 and 17 year olds should be protected from too much responsibility in the first team. Ideally if they have the talent then 10-20 minute cameos are ideal when they're on the pitch a short time and they can give everything they have in short bursts until the time their performances can no longer be ignored. Monga is making a case for a start on ability alone but I would like to see him managed and come on in bursts. As for our other youngsters I've not seen enough from them yet that they can oust the senior professionals here. However I would like to see them on the bench and given opportunities. "If they are good enough, they are old enough" Doubt any coach at the highest level uses such blunt differentiation.
Groby_Blue Posted 6 August 2025 Posted 6 August 2025 Surprised Brighton haven't shown an interest. He seems like the ideal player for them.

It very much is their type of signing. 1

Popular Post STUHILL Posted 6 August 2025 Popular Post Posted 6 August 2025 Feel like he could be the difference for us this season. Really hope we can afford for him to stay. Can see him being one of the best players in the Championship. 6

Popular Post Big_Nige Posted 7 August 2025 Popular Post Posted 7 August 2025 This lad only just turned 21 a couple of months ago. It’s easy to forget how young he is. The end product will come. I don’t want to lose him at all, I’d rather build the team round him. If we need a big sale to stave off the PSR zealots then Mads is the one to shift out He’s got bags of technical ability and presses for fun, he’s a Pep player in waiting. I’m hopeful that the appointment of Marti and the type of football we’ll be looking to play has given Bilal food for thought, and the prospect of 12 more months here, being one of the best players in the division won’t do him any harm at all 6
