Even if we sell BEK I don't think we will spend anything

Top is bleeding the club dry due to King Power financial difficulties

Surely its PSR?

Might of been answered but is there any players palace could dangle at us on loan that improves us? (Not edouard)

In light of the fact that they wouldn’t take him back last Jan when we wanted shot.

I hope we play hardball as much as humanly possible, and if we can’t, get Daniel Levy in on a consultancy basis for a one off sale.

Genuinely can’t see Bilal getting in to the Palace team. He's got some lovely touches but he’s got some way to go before his performances and his output match his hype.

most of the clubs I respect in the prem buy young players with skill and potential, keep them for a couple of years and when they are so much better and profitable, sell them for a big fee.  Palace do this and Bilal would fit exactly into this mold and should be looked at as someone who would be at the start of the process and not the end.

thing is, I cant see Palace wanting to spend the £30mil+ (even close to 40mil) we'd want for BEK atm, Id be very surprised if they did

as their most expensive signing is Benteke at £27mil

as its more than half what theyd get for Eze

Maybe BEK is not seen as a good enough gamble on his wages and what we would ask  for his current skill level :dunno: which might be making him a little unhappy if he wants out, unless there's something concrete its all speculation and agent talk so just have to wait and see.

We have already sold around £30 million pounds worth of players without buying anyone? Surely we aren't that far behind the curve?

We simply don’t know. But we’ve been relegated and threatened with punishment by EFL and the premier league, and we know that previously we’ve been asked to submit business plans. We also know we are trying to correct a horrible wage bill.

I don’t think this is as clear cut as saying there have been sales to we can just start spending again.

I think he will go for somewhere between 22.5-27.5m with add ons.

Much like the Mads deal we will be accepting 15-25% below his market value compared to others.

I don’t think it will free much cash up if any at all to actually buy players worth 5m+. Think we’ll be stuck with frees or loans.

It's too late for that. All the good loans will be gone by the time we get tour act together and as with the freebies.

This club is ran so poorly

Quite evidently we as a fanbase, and his mum as his agent, value him more than other football clubs.

Of all the rumoured clubs (too many to list) has anyone actually put in an offer? They all seem to be pretty instantly put off by his price tag so evidently don't see him a worthwhile gamble.

Got to admit, whilst I think he'll go on to play at the highest level, is he standing out more because of the sheer shit surrounding him?

I don't know, Im not sure theres as much realistic demand as his mum wishes & im less and less bothered about him leaving.

Didn't he down tools at his previous club to get a move to us?......

Just hope Spurs move for Eze allows us time to find a replacement for Bilal.

I've no idea what our DOF is doing

No one will pay more than 20M for him. Unproven at premier league level. He needs to get good numbers this season for us to get a move to a bigger club I think.

He's not exactly pulling up trees is he. No contributions in 3 games so far against utterly honking opposition. Hardly convincing teams that might be on the fence about him.

2 assists against Sheff Weds. only played about an hour since.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit. We reported a profit on player sales of 72m in 23/24 and still turned a loss in the accounts of 19m. Add to that the wage bill comfortably outstrips turnover - we're making a loss before we've even started. Any BEK deal, even at 30m, would only give us about 10m 'profit' to play with in this year's financial statements and that's if they're even willing to spend it.

I suspect the financial position at the club is much worse than they would have you believe.

Yes we are further behind the curve, those sales don’t even cover the short fall in reduction of PSR.

Transfermarkt has the Ndidi fee at €8m, the other 2 sales had to clear the book price first before any of the amounts are considered profit.

On a side note, I see players speaking out on PSR from Villa, because Ramsey had to be sold, when you consider they just got to the QF of the Champions league

Pinch of salt, obviously, because nobody *really* knows, but according to capology: 8 of the highest 10 earners currently in Championship squads (possibly 7, depending on Coady's new wage at Wrexham) play for us. The top 3 of those - Winks, Soumare, Pereira - have weekly wages double those of the players in places 12-18. Think a lot of people really, really underestimate the financial mess the club is in. Still.

They will still be at the top anyway but capology hasn’t reduced their wages following relegation where they have minimum 35% reduction clauses

Fair enough. But yeah like you say, 35% decrease is still higher than the rest and point still stands.
