OK. So I’ve checked Röhl out on Wikipedia and it’s a green light from me. 

 

I’ve gleaned some interesting facts:

 

* His name’s Röhl, not Rohl, which means all our fan base will pronounce it incorrectly, like they did with Pyool.

* He’s only 36.

* He’s from proper East Germany, so he’s likely to bring some sadistic Stasi-inspired methods with him.

* He’s done alright at Sheff Weds.

* He used to work at Southampton, so of course our board want him.

Seems like a panic decision getting rid and possibly having to pay severance money before july 1st. Must be somebody imminent who they would lose if they didn't act sharpish. So we've had to pay Ruud off and pay to compensation for the new manager. Total incompetence.

The silence from the club is clearly alienating the media, and now there is a consensus that the club is not being managed well, it's easier to criticise now.

I keep hearing and reading the club have lied to managers, but then direct quotes from the likes of Maresca suggest that they held the people who ran the club is high regard. 

 

Personally, I don't think there is active lying going on, but instead an overly optimistic version of events. But then things aren't working out with PSR or there are new developments in relation to it, causing the sudden switch in position. I suspect that's what happened in January when the club decided not to spend more when relegation was looking likely and knew a PSR punishment was likely following the tribunal. 

 

And similarly with Maresca and Rodgers - when European football wasn't secured, the board decided to switch the spending taps off. 

 

But it adds up to the same thing as you end up alienating managers, however well intentioned.

Joined a sh**show, left a sh**show. But wish Ruud well, don't have any ill feeling towards him as a person. Always seemed a nice guy.

 

At least it's showed up the board's incompetence to the media and maybe just maybe they'll start to feel some heat
