Panjab Warriors and Bond Group Investments Ltd are pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached in principle for the transfer of majority shareholding in Morecambe Football Club Ltd.

Following constructive discussions and a shared commitment to securing the future of the club, both parties have agreed to a structured settlement that ensures a smooth and fair transition.

This agreement reflects the willingness of both sides to compromise in the best interests of Morecambe FC, its supporters, and the wider community. It paves the way for continued stability and a positive future both on and off the pitch.

Final legal documentation will now be prepared, with immediate steps being taken to inform key stakeholders, including the National League and the club’s management team.

Both Panjab Warriors and Bond Group would like to thank all parties involved for their patience and support during this process, and we look forward to a new chapter in the club’s history.

Bond Group Investments adds:

We would like to thank all of the staff at the Club for their forbearance and can only apologise for the stress this has caused. In particular I would like to thank Rob, Derek, Oliver and Martin for their continued professional conduct and support throughout this process and also their support for the staff and the Community.

I would hope that the Shrimps Fans can now give their full support to the Club and it’s journey ahead.

So, does that mean they're allowed to enter the league and participate in the season?

There should be no issues now but will know for certain on the 20th when the Football league have their meeting to discuss Morecambe’s financial position

Ashvir Singh Johal has become the first Sikh to take charge of a professional British club with his appointment as Morecambe manager.

The 30-year-old also becomes the youngest manager in the top five tiers of English football.

The Shrimps were taken over by the Panjab Warriors consortium on Sunday, ending a lengthy period of uncertainty for the National League club.

Singh Johal, who has never managed a first-team side, replaces Derek Adams, who was sacked on Monday.

Singh Johal wears a Pagg - a traditional Sikh head covering - and has previously worked under Kolo Toure at Wigan and as an assistant to Cesc Fabregas during his time with the youth team at Italian side Como.

Earlier this summer, Singh Johal also became one of the youngest coaches in the history of English football to complete his Uefa Pro Licence qualification.

Prior to his move into senior football with Wigan in 2022 he spent 10 years in various roles in Leicester City's academy.

In an interview with the BBC in June, Singh Johal said: "I have been fortunate to work and learn from some incredible people, and I'm especially grateful to Kolo and Cesc.

"I know what world-class standards look like, how to lead with clarity, and how to develop a team with a real identity.

"We will create an environment that brings the best out of people, that people want to be part of, and that drives people to improve every day."

Congratulations to him AND I really hope it works for the club and the manager.  He's got football pedigree, lets hope it really helps him and he's a success.

Ashvir Singh Johal just seen named as manager, remember him walking around the pitch at the KP pre match. Best of luck to him, but the poor guy i think will struggle. I hope though he goes to prove many including myself wrong.

From Riverside Community College to Morecambe FC.

Always been a hard working guy has Ash, massive job to pick a club up off the canvas, but fingers crossed he’s successful and gets them back in the EFL.

His dad had something to do with the takeover didn’t he.

I think this has come from some twitter tinfoil hat/dog-whistle racists not being able to understand that some people can have the same surname lol

Might be wrong, but some fella on twitter had gone in deep underneath the announcement post.

Car crash waiting to happen.  Owners with no experience, a manager with no experience

If the club is "family" oriented like our owners the crowd will be getting free cha and pakoray.

Maybe I've found a new club as a plastic, sign me up! Lol

Will be interesting to see how this unfolds. Hope it works out for them considering what the club have just been through.

Seems like a nice guy but this is just read off an autocue isn't it lol

Haha I though it sounded a bit odd as well. I imagined it was basically a shortened down and slightly edited version of of the pre-prepared presentation he had during his interview

I remember playing football against him and he was an awful footballer- like not even good enough to play at schools level standard(which he still might have). But it’s an amazing story and one I’m jealous of. I’ll have to stick to playing football manager.

I just can't imagine the guy getting peed off at a team if there 0-3 down at half time playing poor. Seems to nice and maybe shy, Morecambe fans will be more grateful they have club to support. Relegation likely expected from most supporters, but if they were to try avoid relegation you would think you safer option would be is to go for an experience National League coach rather than someone whose just starting and not really got much coaching experience.
