I still like JJ, but I probably have to accept that my brain is still stuck in the place it was when he first came into the team. I’d happily have him in the side ahead of Thomas, Hamza or Coulibaly even now.

If he’s in his last year it’s probably sensible to cash in. He’s not one of the players I’m desperate to leave though (Mr. Soumare).

I wasn't there and I can remember it, so now we just need someone who was there but can't remember it and we've got all bases covered

Scores some absolutley worldies but unfortunatley crap at the job hes meant to do in being able to defend, as im sure Leeds will find out when hes caught ball watching. Will leave us right down to the bare bones though so we better pull our finger out before we’re in serious trouble

Another sale that doesn't upset me too much, brings in a fee and doubtless gets some big wages off the bill. We absolutely need to start replacing some of these soon, though.

That's Ward, Iversen, Justin, Ndidi, Vardy, Coady and Hermansen all gone with one reserve GK brought in to replace them so far. We're well over £400k a week light on the wage bill with over £30m in fees, so the 'sell to buy' threshold must have been reached.

He's hardly bang average if he's our best and starting defender right now.

Should Ricardo be able to maintain fitness he’s our best right back.

You’d like to think so, but truth is we don’t know. Nor do we know if there are any plans to buy at all.

Course it has. Probably fine before we sold the last two!

Something is obviously wrong behind the scenes, financially.

Also putting out this 'bloated squad' nonsense - absolute bollocks.

We've now got 22 senior players. Not including Monga, Aluko, Page, Alves or Evans in that number. Further more probably won't register Souttar and BDCR if they are long term injured.

Time to buy or get some loans in, ffs

And we've taken Bounanotte and Edouard's wages / part wages off the bill

I though he was pretty pure in the last Championship season.

He’s fine, never totally convincing as a defender and despite having all the attributes he doesn’t contribute much going forwards.

Pre-injury he looked like he could go on to be excellent but he’s just decent enough. I’ll wish him well

The reality is that we don't need to replace all of them.

Ward, Iversen, Coady and Hermansen don't really need immediate replacements. I'd like another fullback to replace Justin with Ricardo being a semipermanent crock and Coulibaly clearly not fancied, a combative midfielder to replace Ndidi and give some much-needed bite and, obviously, a new striker.

But I'm very concerned that two weeks to bring in three first team players at the pace Rudkin works is nowhere near enough.

Don't get me wrong, I completely agree. We only need two in imo, if we keep what we now have. A midfielder and a striker, is all that is needed, for me.

bang average in a terrible defence is not good enough

It’s not behind the scenes, we have ridiculously high earners for the championship.

We have to adhere to the lowest PSR range in over 10 years, we also have to submit future financial information forecasts which we avoided last time.

Using the last time we went down the wage bill was less than halved to 107m, but we sold £70m of pure profit players to negate the high wager bill and the PSR limit was (£83m)+£22m on this year

Leeds and Southampton on the other hand had a wage bill of £81m and £84m but also sold players to negate the larger wage bill.

Transfer market has us down as bringing in £26m this season but not a great deal of that is profit.

But we have removed a very large amount of wages from that.

If we say it's between £400-£500k a week, that's over £20m a season in savings before transfer fees are considered.

This now means that the only very large earners from the disastrous 2021-2022 window are Daka, Soumare and Vestergaard with Winks being on big bunce as well. At least three of those will be off next summer as well with, you would hope, youth or cheap signings brought in to replace them. With players like Monga, Aluko, Nelson, Page and Evans likely to get some game time and being on significantly less than those I've mentioned, you'd hope that would balance out some of the ridiculous contracts handed out in 2021.

The next thing we need to do is sign freebies, loanees and go into the bargain markets of Scandinavia and Belgium. I'm astounded, for example, that no PL club has gone in for Franculino Djú at Midtjylland.

We still have 9 of the top 13 highest earners according to Cappology

we also added new players last season, and have players back from loans that wages were covered previously.

My point is that even at £80m wage bill with a bigger limit on PSR £83m the relegated clubs still needed to sell to buy.

Things are tighter for us, because the limit has been reduced and the players we have got rid of so far are not all pure profit allowing more flexibility.

Don’t forget the average annual salary for Championship clubs is about £15m.

They will probably still be around the top but looks like cappology have not put the minimum 35% wage reduction clauses across the squad
