Let's see.

I'm reading nothing into the starting line up.

For context last pre-season our last friendly we got stuffed 3-0 at Lens and 8 of those started the 1st game.

The season before, our last friendly vs Liverpool and 8 of the 11 played the 1st game vs Coventry.

Soumare is the only real concern here. As I said, should have sold/ditched this chump way before we got a manger in.
That way there is no chance of him conning the new man, into thinking he's an actual footballer.

Looks like he's pulled the same trick again 🙄

The problem is, Daka is better at pressing, but Ayew is better at hold up play and linking.

Our new striker imo has to have the requirements to do both.

Great reply to be fair.

My biggest bugbear is that Marti hasn’t been as vocal about his number 9 holding the ball up for his wingers, like he has about his high press etc.

I don’t want Daka as our main striker but if it’s between him and Ayew, I’d personally have loved to try to boost Daka’s confidence by saying you’re my guy (for now).

I mean, you know that's not how injuries work though?

Scientific method in action.  :)

Of course its not scientific, neither of us know. But based on other players not fully fit, they are all starting today. Nelson has not started a pre-season game under Cifuentes yet, disappointing. I don't ever want to see Vestergaard or Faes ever again.

No sure what Enzo and Cooper selections have to do with Marti.

But you add in Monga, Nelson and Alves to 8 of these you wouldn't be happy?

For anyone angry theyve just paid £20 to watch Vestergaard and Skipp captained by Hamza Choudhury...

Look on the brightside...

At least Fiorentina have a star studded line up. The likes of De Gea, Gosens, zaniolo and Dzeko...

Ah.....or not.. lol

All three managers were new to their clubs, very similar circumstances except Marti starting a week or two later.

Yes if El Khannouss is sold and Vestergaard and Ayew dropped for those quoted above I'd obviously be happy. I just hoped to see a manager back up what he says and a statement of intent on building a team around our academy. If he does that next week, great.

Yes, it was always unlikely that the team we would like to be available for the first game, was available and we would hope we would be further along, but we aren't for whatever reason. (The usual)

Lets just hope Marti is still learning and more movement occurs the coming weeks.

I think he will.

I’m holding out that this is him wanting to see some of these lads again, to make a decision on them. He’s probably happy with the academy lads.
