No, but Transparent Jesus would be a great band name!

I mean with our facilities you’d think we should sway him in comparison to the other teams bidding currently

If it is us and Swansea then a choice of midtable mediocrity or a club even with a points deduction easily getting into the play-offs and a real chance of playing Premier league football I know who I would choose

I mean not to sound pig headed….. but surely he picks us if we’re interested? I mean, he’s got a chance to fill the boots of one of the greatest ever….. and who exactly will challenge him? I’ve got more of a chance of competing for his place than Daka has.

On paper we are a good prospect for any striker, especially a big man.

Only one specialist striker in the senior squad. 2 x promotion winning wingers.

2 young wingers on the bench if they get injured.

A possession based team.

Other striker does not seem to have much credit with fans, possibly the new manager too.

Opportunity to develop at the best training facilities in the league.

Good chance to get into the prem in the next couple of years.

Thats what I always think but seems whenever we're interested with a bag of other English clubs we never get it done.

'Interested' in Bowen, Watkins. Never get it done.

That can be a lot of pressure for a young striker… always being compared to Vardy .. fans can heap pressure on him too. “ Vardy wouldn’t have missed that” “ he’s no vardy..”, ect.

Hopefully the fans wouldn’t do that and just let him be himself

@Ric Flair can vouch for me back in August last year watching him play against Wrexham, I said he’s worth keeping an eye. Very strong but very raw. He completely tailed off at the end of the season with an injury rhough. But there’s a high ceiling there. He does work hard.

You did indeed.

Yep. But you'll get people here trying to say we can't compete with *Swansea City*.

Problem we seem to have is that we don’t commit. We always seem to be hoping we can get that better player and tend to leave players hanging on as options.

if we seriously put a bid in, he’ll be coming here.

If he’s only had a couple of seasons in league one he can’t be on a lot.

he would be a sensible pickup but I would be reluctant to hang my hat on him as main striker. Him and one more please

Probably around £3k a week. Dependent on what others are offering him you’ll probably get him for £15k - £20k a week.

I’d be surprised if he was on £3k a week now. I reckon £10k would be a huge life changing increase for him

It'll be 70k a week because Big John has that on the contract template he uses and he doesn't know how to change it.

There is no way we are signing 2 strikers as we already have Ayew and Daka (as much as he's shit he isn't going anywhere) plus Jake Evans. A cheap pick up like Kone is ideal for now, and then next summer, if we get promoted, we sign another striker that would be good enough for the prem.

If we can't get him over Swansea or Preston things are even worse than I realised. If we're serious we'll get him IMO.

Wycombe paid their players less than 2k in the championship

Highest was Vokes who got a bit above 2.5k

Problem is his agent won’t accept less than 30k to come here because it’s us

Very little chance BEK is still here in September.

His agent appears to be actively trying to get him a move and we seem resigned and willing to sell him if we can recoup our losses with a small profit. He'll go for ~25mish (may even have a release clause.)

Leeds have allegedly already agreed personal terms with him and the sources for that are very strong.

Owain said on the When you're smiling pod his release clause is far closer to £30m than the fees being touted about

That would make a lot of sense with what's going on.

It means both things are true, that he has a clause and that clubs are trying to negotiate with us.

Clearly people want to bid a bit less than his clause.

well unless someone chucks in a huge sell on I think we should hold on for the release clause
